    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a contact electrifying device of high reliability where electrifying noise is surely prevented by applying a vibration restraining condition with a wide range of use that is derived by an efficient method. SOLUTION: In this device, an electrifying roll 1 that is constituted from conductive core metal 1a, a conductive elastic layer 1b and a coating layer 1c is rotated while in contact with a photoreceptor drum 3 that is constituted from a conductive substrate 3a and a photoreceptor 3b. Furthermore, bias voltage where AC voltage is superposed on DC voltage is applied between the core metal 1a and the substrate 3a by a power source 2. At this time, since a vibration system with a natural frequency fm that is vibrated due to electrostatic attracting force is constituted by the electrifying roll 1 and the photoreceptor 3, resonance of the vibration system and a comparatively large vibration taking into account viscous dampening resistance can be restrained by calculating the natural frequency fm from each parameter of the vibration system, expressing a frequency of the superposed AC voltage or a value that is twice that frequency as fac and setting it within a range of fac =1.5 fm.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To weaken the abetting force of a developing roller and a thin-plate elastic body serving, as a discharge member, on each other, to sufficiently obtain an area where the developing roller and the discharge member contact each other, and to carry toner having no development history to a developing area on the developing roller. SOLUTION: In order to make the discharge member 400 abut on the developer carrier 100 so as not to peel residual developer on the developer carrier 100 mechanically, a pressing elastic member 420 is disposed in the area where the developer carrier 100 and the discharge member 400 are in contact with each other. The discharge member 400 is provided with a bias power source 410 for setting a bias in the direction of the exertion of force with which the residual developer on the developer carrier 100 is electrically pulled away from the developer carrier 100. Here, after the electrically-sticking force of the residual developer on the developer carrier 100 is weakened, a developer supply member 200 removes the residual developer on the developer carrier near the area of the contact/separation of the developer carrier 100 and developer supply member or in the area of the contact. Thereafter, near the area of the close contact of the developer carrier 100 and developer supply member 200 or in the area where the contact starts, the developer supply member 200 applies fresh developer in a developing container to the developer carrier 100.

    • PURPOSE:To allow the control of the orientation and arrangement of the molecules sticking to the 1st layer on a substrate and to obtain the org. compd. thin-film having a desired crystal bearing or high molecular orientation by selecting the kind, crystal bearing and molecular orientation of the substrate with respect to the org. compd. thin-film to be formed. CONSTITUTION:The substrate formed with the layer of the org. compd. exhibiting the affinity to allow impartation of orientability in a prescribed direction to the org. compd. thin-film to be formed or having the resemblance in crystal grating size on at least the surface is used as the substrate. The crystalline or orientable org. compd. thin-film is formed on this substrate. More specifically, the substrate is produced by growing a copper phthalaocyanine thin-film on an Si plate body by a vacuum vapor deposition method and this substrate is mounted to a substrate holder 2, then a crucible 5 in which 2- methyl-4-nitroaniline (MNA) is housed is heated in a vacuum to sublimate the MNA to form the MNA thin-film by vapor deposition on the above-mentioned substrate 1. The crystal orientation of the resulted MNA thin-film can be controlled by changing the substrate temp. at this time.
