摘要： PURPOSE:To prevent adhesion of salinity on an outside face of an upper casing by providing a cooling water passage leading cooling water to the vicinity of the inside face of the upper casing outside wall part in an exhaust pipe extending into the upper casing. CONSTITUTION:Cooling water cooling an engine 3 is discharged from a cooling water passage 3c in the vicinity of the exhaust passage to a cooling water passage 28 in an exhaust pipe 23, and then, is let flow into a water jacket 24 from the cooling water passage 28. In this process, the cooling water discharged from the cooling water passage 28 is sprinkled on a rear wall 2c, as the lower opening of the cooling water passage 28 is positioned in the vicinity of the rear wall 2c in an upper casing 2. Therefore, the exhaust pipe 23 is cooled down by the cooling water discharged from the cooling water passage 28, and the cooling water from the cooling water passage 28 is sprinkled on the upper casing 2 for cooling it down. Consequently, the upper casing 2 can be cooled down with the exhaust pipe 23 by means of the cooling water, and sea water adhering on the outside face of the upper casing 2 is swept away, so that no salinity remains on the outside face.

摘要： PURPOSE:To simplify an upper mount part so as to reduce the cost by forming of a steering bracket connected to a base plate via an elastic member and integrally arranging an elastic member holding part, which holds the elastic member, on the base plate. CONSTITUTION:On a base plate 21, a plane seal plate part, 22 closing a space 19 inside an upper casing 2 on the front side and an elastic member holding part, 23, which projects upward from the seal plate part, 22 and is connected to the rear end part, of a steering bracket 13, are integrally formed. The seal plate 22 is formed into a triangle employing the outboard motor rear side as a bottom side, and screw holes are bored in the vicinity of the front part, the left vertex, and the right vertex, and then, mounting bolts 24 are put through the screw holes to be screwed to the upper casing 2, so that the base plate 21 is fixed in the upper casing 2. In this way, a structure of the upper mount part, 10 can be simplified.

摘要： PURPOSE:To facilitate portage of an outboard motor by providing a carrying handle provided with a grip part extending in the vertical direction in the position in front of the center of gravity of the outboard motor. CONSTITUTION:A carrying handle 12 consists of a grip part 13 gripped in portage of an outboard motor, a hook 14 for fixing the position of the grip part 13, and the like. The grip part, 13 as a whole is formed into a prism approximately, and one end of it is journalled to a tilt shaft 9 freely rotationally, while the hook 14 is installed in the other end freely rotationally. The grip part 13 is positioned between bracket main bodies 10a, 10b on the left and the right sides of a clamp bracket 10 and is positioned in front of the center of gravity of the outboard motor at the same time. In this way, the outboard motor can be carried stably.

摘要： PURPOSE: To facilitate to surely move a receiver during the tilt up motion of a marine vessel propulsion machine. CONSTITUTION: A swivel bracket 6 is rotatably attached to a clamp bracket 10 through a rotating shaft 19. The bracket 6 is locked on the bracket 10 through a lock lever 20. A receiver 16 which can engage with the bracket 10 when the bracket 6 is rotated upward is rotatably attached to the bracket 6. A lever 25 is attached to the bracket 6, and a tension spring 30 for adjusting the position of the receiver 16 and a lock release rod 27 for releasing the lock lever 20 are attached to the lever 25. When the lever 25 is counterclockwise rotated, first the lock release rod 27 pushingly moves the receiver 16 toward the bracket 10, and then the tension spring 30 energizes the receiver 16 toward the bracket 10.

摘要： PURPOSE:To reduce the number of machining processes in a lower mount part so as to reduce the cost and secure binding strength between a lower mount housing and a steering shaft while preventing the steering shaft from being thickened. CONSTITUTION:In a lower mount part 11, a steering shaft 31 having a round cross section is clamped by means of lower mount housings 34, 35. Both of the lower mount housings 34, 35 are prevented from rotating by fitting between pins 34b, 35b and through holes 31a. The steering shaft 31 is assembled after molding without requiring any post-processing. Therefore, a joint part between them needs not to be machined, so that the costs can be reduced. As binding strength can be obtained without being affected by the diameter of the steering shaft 31, the steering shaft 31 can be prevented from being thickened unnecessarily.
