In this case, if the oil level in the subtank 31 reached a warning level and a certain lead switch in a detector 41 is turned on, the control on the number of cylinders is carried out, on condition that the opening of a throttle is above a certain degree and that the number of revolutions of engine is above a certain speed. That is, in a 6-cylinder engine 13 for example, each of #6, #5, #3, and #2 cylinders is made misfire in this order, at a certain interval, allowing the engine 13 to continuously operate by means of only the two, #1 and #4, cylinders. Thereby, the speed of rotation of an engine can be reduced without shock.

CONSTITUTION:The tip 14a of a trim rod 14 is formed in a spherical surface and contacted to a load receiver of the main body 6 of an outboard motor through a thrush receiver 15. In the thrust receiving part 15a of the receiver 15, a contact 15c to contact with the tip 14a of the rod 14 is formed in a long ellipse in the moving direction of the rod 14 when a tilt made, that is, in the sliding direction of the rod 14, and its surface is made in a convex at a specific curvature, On the contact of the contact 15c of the thrust receiving part 15a, numerous groove 18 are formed parallel in the moving direction of the rod 14 respectively, and thereby, the contact area between the tip 14a and the contact 15c is reduced while the contact 15c is kept contacted successively to the tip 14a of the rod 14. Therefore, a slip phenomenon in the sliding condition can be reduced, and the generation of stick is suppressed to prevent the generation of abnormal sounds.

A pressure receiving plate 26 is conformed to the inner circumference of a cylindrical body 22, and the bottom of a seal part 28 is made to be a flat shape conforming to the upper surface of the valve seat 14. While the energizing force of the spring 16 is transmitted to the valve disk 12 via a pin 36, the pin 36 is positioned at the center of the pressure receiving plate 26 of the valve disk 12, and is formed to have a diameter smaller than that of the seal part 28. When a pressure such as an oil pressure is greater than the set pressure of the spring 16, the valve disk 12 is lifted up, and the oil pressure is released to a discharge port 42.

CONSTITUTION:A connecting passage 71, which connects the upper chamber and the lower chamber of a cylinder 18, connects the upper chamber to the lower chamber in a direct and short-circuit manner. Therefore, the passage 71 can be short and free from sharp or many curves. As a result, passage resistance, which acts on the working oil that moves between the upper chamber and the lower chamber of the cylinder at the time of beach-landing, becomes small, and, at the same time, the spring-up resistance due to this passage resistance becomes small as well. Accordingly, the spring-up responsiveness at the time of beach-landing can be improved. In addition, even if the beach-landing is repeated frequently, less damage will be done to the outboard motor, and the operational performance against the spring-up can be improved.
