    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a drum type washing machine improved in washing force by eliminating the calcium ion and magnesium ion included in the washing water and giving the bad influence to the effect of the detergent. SOLUTION: An ion eliminating device 40 has a cylindrical container 41 filled with the natrium type strong acid positive ion exchange resin and provided between a water supply valve 28 of a water supply passage for supplying the water into an outer tub 3 and a detergent throw-in case 30 over the outer tub 3, and a salt container 45 for housing a certain quantity of salt possible to be regenerated plural time. The salt from the salt container 45 is dissolved in the water supplied into the salt water container 42 so as to generate the salt water at about 10% of concentration. The salt water is made to flow down to the ion exchange resin at every time of finishing the supply of the water for washing and rinse, or with an interval decided on the basis of the hardness of the service water and quantity of the supplied water, so as to automatically regenerate the ion exchange resin.
