    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make horizontal installation simple and sure by providing the upper part of a main body frame with a level and regulating a levelness while viewing the level. SOLUTION: A level 37 is mounted in parallel with the top end face of a frame at a housing section comprising a front panel 22 and a manipulation panel 22a. The level 37 is constituted by sealing liquid 40 into a case 38 while allowing a slight air bubble 39 to remain. A reference point, straight lines which intersect orthogonally with each other in a depth direction and lateral direction around the reference point and a circle of a diameter indicting the permissible installation inclination angle of the main body of a washing machine are displayed on the front surface of the case 38 of the level 37. As a result, the moving quantity and direction of the air bubble 39 may be checked and the height regulating quantity of leg parts may be checked. Then, a user horizontally installs the washing machine by rotating the screw type regulating legs of front legs and regulating the height while viewing the position and movement quantity of the air bubble 39 in the level vial. The simple and sure horizontal installation is thus made possible.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To simplify the structure and perform an operation excellent in safety by providing a lid open instructing means for instructing the opening of a lid, and delaying the lid unlocking based on the lid open instruction from the lid open instructing means when a washing and dehydration tub is under rotation and the state is not clear. SOLUTION: A driving motor 9 for rotating a washing and dehydration tub is provided with a main winding 9c and auxiliary winding 9d for 6-pole constitution and a main winding 9e and auxiliary winding 9f for 2-pole constitution, and at the time of dehydration stoppage, an electric braking is performed by use of this driving motor 9. When a lid open instruction is inputted from a lid open key, the lid lock is released after an electric braking control processing is performed for a prescribed time since the dehydration tub is under rotation when it is confirmed that the dehydration tub is under dehydration process where a drain valve opening and closing detection switch 18g is 'OPEN', a drain valve open and close detection switch 18h is 'CLOSE', and a drain valve 10a is in open state. On the other hand, in the washing process where the drain valve 10a is closed, the lid lock is immediately released.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To simplify the structure by forming a locking and claw-engagement part on the static member of a claw type locking device for supporting a dehydration shaft and a washing shaft through the bottom wall of an outer tank, and locking the dehydration shaft in washing by the claw engagement of this engagement part with a member on the dehydration shaft. SOLUTION: A claw type clutch/locking device formed of the composite of a clutch device for interrupting the driving force transmission to a dehydration tub with a device for locking the dehydration tub in washing is provided with a cylindrical housing 7a extending through the bottom wall of an outer tub. A dehydration shaft 7e is supported within the housing 7a in watertight state so as to extend through it. A spline 7j is formed on the lower end circumference of such a dehydration shaft 7e, and a slider 7i is engaged therewith in such a manner as to be axially slidable. The slider 7i has, on the upper end, an upper uneven part 7n to be claw-engaged with a locking uneven part 7g formed on the lower edge of the housing 7a in the upward movement to lock the dehydration shaft 7e by the claw engagement of the both.
