    • PURPOSE:To obtain a transfer roller applying the light and uniform pressure to a transfer material when the transfer material is pinched between a latent image carrier and the transfer roller so that a transfer image with no transfer omission or transfer drift can be obtained. CONSTITUTION:A transfer roller 5 is provided with an elastic material such as a hair-planted brush or sponge at the center section 53 on a core metal 50 to form an elastic region, and a material with high resistance and a large friction coefficient is provided at both end sections to form regions with no elastic deformation practically. The length of the center section in the axial direction is set nearly equal to the maximum horizontal size of the transfer paper 10 used in an electrophotographic copying machine. When the transfer paper 10 enters a transfer nip, the surface of the center section of the transfer roller 5 kept in contact with the transfer paper 10 is sunk and made thin by the thickness of the transfer paper 10, and the light and uniform pressure in the axial direction is applied to the transfer paper 10.

    • PURPOSE:To exactly correct the deterioration of the photosensitive body with time by measuring the accumulated revolving speed of the photosensitive body and correcting the conditions for forming images by the quantity which is preset with respect to the respective accumulated revolving speeds at every passage of the set specified revolving speed. CONSTITUTION:The accumulated revolving speed of the photosensitive body is measured and the conditions for forming images are corrected by the quantity which is preset with respect to the respective accumulated revolving speeds at every time when the accumulated revolving speed passes the preset specified revolving speed. Namely, the accumulated revolving speed of the photosensitive body is corrected by the preset quantity for each of the specified revolving speeds of the photosensitive body, by which the same correction of the image forming conditions is executed with the accumulated revolving speed of the same photosensitive body regardless of whether the continuous image formation is frequent or the image formation of a small number of sheets, such as one sheet or two sheets, is frequent in the form of the copying or printing to the attainment of the above-mentioned accumulated revolving speed. The exact correction is executed in this way.

    • PURPOSE:To prevent an afterimage from being formed and to obtain high-level image quality stably by supplying a developer from a storage means to a developer conveyor and then removing a returned developer from the surface of the conveyor by a rotating member through a development area. CONSTITUTION:Remaining tone passed through an electrostatic discharging area is conveyed to the arrangement position of a press-contacting roller 5 according to the rotation of a developing sleeve 1 as the developer conveyor and scraped off the surface of the sleeve 1 by the press-contacting roller 5 which slides while moving in the opposite direction of the sleeve 1. This roller 5 has a surface part 5b of urethane foam adhered to its peripheral surface and this roller 5 is pressed properly against the sleeve 1 in surface contact to scrape the remaining toner securely and also grounded to easily scrape the toner. Thus, the remaining toner on the surface of the sleeve 1 is removed easily and securely to control the formation of an afterimage originating from the remaining toner.
