摘要： PURPOSE: To improve an image editing function and operability by copying the overlapped part of the previously inputted original and erasing the over lapped part of the second original, when image regions are overlapped. CONSTITUTION: The first original is illuminated by an exposure optical device for illuminating 8 including a light source 2, mirrors 3-6 and a lens 7, to form an image on a photoreceptor 9 by an exposure. In an original replacing device 1, the first original is taken out and the second original is set in a fixed position. Then, a transfer is performed on the surface having the image of the first original of a transfer paper 14 fed to a transfer position. When the overlapped part appears from a viewpoint of the arrangement of the transfer paper 14 to which the image regions of the first and second originals are copied, the overlapped part of the previously inputted first original is copied and the overlapped part of the second original is erased by an erasing unit provided for erasing in the horizontal direction of an electrostatic latent image in a coping process.

摘要： PURPOSE:To improve split scan copying operability by deciding the lengthwise direction of an original as well as it size, determining magnification based on the relation between the half size of the original obtained by dividing the lengthwise size of the original and transfer paper size. CONSTITUTION:A size detecting means for the original 102, a size detecting means for transfer paper 312, a longitudinal magnification varying means 151, and a lateral magnification varying means 163 are provided. Then the size of the original 102 and the setting state of the original 102 on contact glass 101 are detected and the size of the selected transfer paper 312 is also known. The read position of an optical system at the time of successive page copying is determined according to those data and control is performed so that two images A and B are transferred correctly onto the transfer paper 312. Consequently, the good-operability split scan copying method for a copying machine is obtained which copies images in an excellent state without reference to the setting direction of the original 102.

摘要： PURPOSE:To attain page continuous copy into a regular position on a copy paper by detecting an original size on an original platen by means of a photoelectric sensor and deciding the range of scan in accordance with a value in which the length of a discriminated lengthwise direction is equally divided. CONSTITUTION:A book, a register and the like are mounted on a contact glass 5 with pages opened. The photoelectric sensors S1-S6 and S10-S19 of light- projection and reception type are provided outside respective sides which are orthogonal to the glass 5 with one angle of the glass 5 as a reference. The interval (d) of the photoelectric sensors is set to constant, 50mm, for example, and the presence and absence of the original 99 is detected with the intervals. If the original is mounted as a figure (C), the sensors S1-S4 and S10-S11 generate detection force, and an auxiliary scan direction is judged to be a lengthwise direction. If the original 99 is mounted as a figure (D), the main scan direction is judged to be the lengthwise direction. Consequently, the value in which the lengthwise direction is equally divided is set to be the length of one page, whereby copy of respective pages is attained.

In the character reference circuit, a character identified in a character identification circuit is compared with the character information from the editing character memory. Thereby, information except the character to be changed is directly transmitted to an output buffer circuit, the character 'EFGH' to be changed is replaced by the 'JKLM' and transmitted to a printer control circuit to obtain a desired copy.
