    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To ensure long term reliability by forming a piezoelectric thin film element in an actuator by water heat method. SOLUTION: Since crystal nuclei of PZT are generated on the surface of a titanium oxide substrate serving as a diaphragm 5 through reaction on aqueous solution containing zirconium and lead, PZT crystals are generated from the crystal nuclei by subjecting substrate to water heat treatment in the aqueous solution containing zirconium and lead. A piezoelectric thin film element 7 is thereby formed on the diaphragm 5 and divided into elements corresponding to individual nozzles 12 (pressurized liquid chamber 9) by scanning the integrated piezoelectric thin film element 7 with laser light 42 from a laser light source 41 using a mirror 43. Since an actuator has a piezoelectric thin film element formed by water heat method, it can be formed integrally with the diaphragm without requiring any bonding process and long term reliability can be guaranteed.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize a high density by a method wherein actuator elements and a driving circuit are connected together through a flexible wiring board and, at the same time, the driving circuit is mounted on the flexible board. SOLUTION: In an electrical component unit 4, driving ICs 32 are mounted on a flexible wiring board 31 by providing the driving ICs 32, each of which is a driving circuit for applying driving wave forms to the piezoelectric elements of an actuator unit, trimming resistances 33 for adjusting the scatterings of ink drop speeds of respective nozzles, connecting terminals 34 to the actuator unit, connecting terminals 35 to a device main body and lead wire patterns 37 for electrically connecting the driving ICs 32 to the connecting terminal 35 to the device main body on the flexible wire board 31. Thus, even when the number of actuator elements increases as the image quality and the arrangemental density of parts become higher, the electrical wiring between the driving circuit and the actuator elements can be easily executed.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a nozzle forming member having a high resistance to ink, enabling sure attainment of high component precision and being excellent in mass-production properties and cost reduction by forming a nozzle hole in an SUS base by etching. SOLUTION: A nozzle plate 33 is prepared by forming a nozzle hole 38 in an SUS base 61 such as SUS 304 by etching. As for the internal shape of the nozzle hole 38, the ink liquid chamber side thereof is shaped like a horn of a large diameter, while a nozzle opening 38a of a prescribed diameter is formed by a heterogeneous metal layer 62 laminated on the ink jet face side of the SUS base 61. Moreover, a surface treated film 47 having water repellency is formed on the surface side of the heterogeneous metal layer 62. The SUS base 61 has durability in regard to ionic ink and, by enhancing the anisotropy by an etching method, it is made possible to secure also component precision and to attain mass-production properties and cost reduction. By forming the internal shape of the nozzle hole 38 like the horn, besides, it is made possible to ensure the volume of an ink droplet and to improve a discharge velocity of the ink droplet.

CONSTITUTION: A head substrate 4 is made from a silicon substrate, impurity areas 25 with impurities doped are formed on the inner surface side of ink supply route 23 which is a part of the substrate 4, on the ink tank side, and on the periphery of the route 23 on the side of a common liquid chamber 8, electrodes 26, 27 facing each other with the areas 25 between them are installed on the surfaces on the ink tank 3 side and the common liquid chamber 8 side, the areas 25 are made to generate heat by passing the electric current through the electrodes 26, 27, and the inside of the ink tank 3, the inside of an ink supply route 11, the common liquid chamber 8, etc., are heated simultaneously.
