    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an elbow which can cause the small reduction of the thickness on the outer peripheral portion of a bent portion, and can suppress the generation of wrinkles on the inner peripheral side of the bent portion irrespective of the existence and nonexistence of a neck.
      SOLUTION: In a cold bending method of the elbow having a target curvature of its axis, a mother pipe is inserted into a guide tube, and is successively or continuously extruded from the inserted side so as to reduce its diameter and so as to be bent. In the diameter reducing work, the wall thickness on the outer peripheral side at the bent portion is increased so as to be thicker than the wall thickness on the inner peripheral side, and the bending work is successively carried out. The diameter reducing work is carried out by means of an eccentric die, a pair of special shape rolls having different diameters, or by combining a half die and a roll. Thus, the wall thickness of the blank pipe on the outer peripheral side at the bent portion can be increased so as to be thicker than the wall thickness on the inner peripheral side at the bent portion.
