    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To restrain the occurrence of a short circuit and leakage due to current-carrying to the possible minimum level, and to improve a yield by dry- etching a panel after forming a metallic electrode. SOLUTION: The edge parts 103a, 104a of a light emitting layer 103 and a metallic electrode 104 are formed thinner than the other part by dust/dirt 106 stuck on a transparent electrode 102 so that the tip of the edge part 103a of the light emitting layer is exposed without being covered with the metallic electrode 104. An ion generated by dry-etching enters from the arrow direction, and the light emitting layer 103 is removed from the edge part 103 side by reacting. At this time, because the edge part 104 of the metallic electrode is put in a projecting state but becomes more fragile than the other part of the metallic electrode 104 because of being thinned, the edge part 104a is disrupted/ removed by a collision of ions to thereby eliminate the thin part so far being an occurrence place of a short circuit and a leakage because both the edge part 103a of the light emitting layer and the edge part 104a of the metallic electrode.

    • PURPOSE:To obtain a magnetic head having the perfectly flush parts of core half bodies to form a track width by forming a thin magnetic metallic film via a thin nonmagnetic film to one block half body and forming a thin magnetic metallic film to the other block half body, joining these bodies at the surfaces formed with these thin films, then working grooves on both the right and left sides thereof except the part to form the track width from the tape sliding surface side. CONSTITUTION:The thin film 7 consisting of a nonmagnetic material is formed to 0.2-0.3mum on the block half body 13a by a thin film forming means such as sputtering or vapor deposition. The thin film 8a consisting of a magnetic metallic material, for example, 'Permalloy(R)' is formed to 1-2mum thickness on this film 7 except the part of the groove 10 by a thin film forming means such as sputtering or vapor deposition. The thin film 8b consisting of the magnetic metallic material is formed on the other block half body 13b as well to 1-2mum thickness. While the thin films 8a, 8b are held butted against each other, the blocks are treated at an adequate temp. of >=800 deg.C to cause the self-welding thereof, by which a core block 13 is obtd. The generation of serration in the magnetic gap part is thereby obviated.

    • PURPOSE:To maintain a high erasion rate by forming a thin film having a magnetic permeability on the joint surface generated on the opposite surface of a front gap which becomes a magnetic gap of an erasing head, at the time of joining a center core and a side core. CONSTITUTION:A groove 9 which becomes a winding window 5, a slant face 10 for filling the glass 15, and a groove 11 for readjusting an erasion width are worked in a side core block 7 which becomes a side core 3. After polishing a butt surface 12 to a center core 4, a joint part to the center core 4 is covered with a mask 13, and in the remaining part, a metallic compound soft magnetic thin film 14 is formed by vapor-deposition, etc. Subsequently, both right and left side faces of a center core block 8 which becomes the center core 4 are polished and superposed on the side core block 7, and they are joined by making the glass 15 flow into a gap of the same thickness as the thin film 14 between both of them, the grove 11, and the slant face 10. Both the blocks 7, 8 which have been joined in this way are sliced to a necessary thickness after executing the curved surface working of a tape passing surface, and an erasing head block is obtained.
