Another input port 51 for charging the anionic coagulant is also fitted to the coagulation tank 5. The required amount of the anionic coagulant is segmented and fractionally charged into the input port 12 and 51. A cationic coagulant is also charged into an input port 52 fitted to the coagulation tank 5 at the downstream side of the input port 51.

The flocculation reactor 5 is disposed above the receiving port 76. A supply pipe 6 is provided for supplying the flocculated sludge from the flocculation reactor 5 to the receiving port 76. The flocculated sludge is supplied into the filter cylinder 71 under pressure, while a state, where the flocculated sludge is accumulated in the supply pipe 6, is maintained.
