    • PURPOSE:To enable to drive a printing hammer by a low voltage and to obtain a large displacement, by a method wherein a plurality of ceramic sheets are laminated, and electrodes are provided on both sides of each of the ceramic sheets so that the electrode provided between adjacent ones of the sheets functions as a common electrode for the adjacent sheets, thereby constituting a multilayer construction. CONSTITUTION:A plurality of the ceramic sheets 7 are laminated to constitute a multilayer construction, electrodes 8 of appropriate pattern are provided at predetermined positions of both sides of each of the ceramic sheets 7, and the electrode 8 provided between adjacent ones of the sheets 7 is used as a common electrode for the adjacent sheets 7. The directions of polarization of the electrodes 8 are so set that they are opposite for the adjacent ceramic sheets 7, as indicated by arrows P. Accordingly, since a bimorph-type printing hammer is provided by utilizing the transverse effect of mechanical strains of a piezoelectric ceramic, there is no need for a separate magnifying mechanism. In addition, since the electrodes are provided on both sides of each of the ceramic sheets constituting the piezoelectric ceramic, the hammer can be driven by a low voltage.

    • PURPOSE:To reduce high-frequency vibration and vertical and horizontal vibration by a method wherein a prescribed inertia mass which has a printing wire is mounted and fixed on a movable plate provided to the center of an elastic plate and a piezo-porcelain plate, which is divided into two and has electrode layers on its front and back surfaces, is solidly jointed with the elastic plate. CONSTITUTION:When an inertia mass 10 returns to a balancing position at a high speed, it is given a repulsion force from the whole surface contacting with a base plate 19 so that the movement of the inertia mass 10 becomes rebounding motion with straight component and rotation component. In order to reduce this phenomenon, a cut slot 24 is provided to an upper plate 23 which is also used as a clamp for printing hammer to form a pivot 25, which is provided to a suitable position corresponding to the position of a pivot 21 of the base plate 19. With this composition, the straight movement of the inertia mass 10 is completely restrained and the rebounding motion due to the remaining rotation component force is also reduced to be almost negligible.
