    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To efficiently clean a contaminant even in a contaminated soil having high viscosity without imparting an influence to the environment and carrying out an after-treatment such as pH adjustment for preventing it. SOLUTION: The method for cleaning the contaminated soil by a microorganism comprises a process for ventilating the contaminated soil containing the contaminant while being stirred to vaporize and recover the contaminant, and a process for charging a decomposing bacterium for decomposing the contaminant into the contaminated soil to decompose the contaminant by the decomposing bacterium, and is characterized in that the ventilation process precedes the decomposing process, and that the decomposing bacterium is charged when the concentration of the contaminant is lowered in the ventilation process so that the decomposing bacterium can decompose the contaminant more effectively.     • PURPOSE:To obtain a controlled refuse disposal site wherein the conditions of water shielding sheets and refuse at its bottom are easily controlled to permit a safe and efficient filling-up operation of the refuse by providing an observation hole which the operator can enter at the bottom of the refuse disposal site. CONSTITUTION:In a refuse disposal site 10, a water shielding work is executed to form on the bottom of its cavity a water shielding surface 13 consisting of water shielding sheets 11 and protecting sand 12 laid on the sheets to receive dumped refuse H thereon and an observation hole 14 with horseshoe-shaped cross section is formed in the center of the bottom of the refuse disposal site 10 over the water shielding surface 13. This observation hole 14 is made of a concrete box culvert having such a size as to permit entry of the operator and is provided on its side face with circular or vertically long observation windows fitted with tempered glass at suitable intervals and a pipe 15 both for air feed and for gas vent and an air vent pipe 16 are installed leading from the upper end of the observation hole 14 to the ground surface.
