    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To shorten the working time, and to secure the safety of the work while smoothly transferring the cable from a shelf to a winding barrel by providing a series of flange along a peripheral edge of the shelf for winding an excessive length part of a starting end of a wire and along a drum center side groove edge of a wire groove. SOLUTION: A cylindrical shelf 13 having a diameter larger than a winding barrel 11 and a fixture 14 for fixing a starting end of a wire onto the shelf 13 are provided inside of one of drum flanges provided in both ends of the winding barrel 11 of a drum 10. The inside surface 12a of the drum flange 12 is provided with a wire groove 1, and a series of flange 16 is provided along the peripheral edge of the side surface of the shelf 13 and a drum center side groove edge of the wire groove 15. A drum center side groove surface of the wire groove 15 is continued to the peripheral surface of the shelf 13, and as it comes in a wire winding direction, the drum center side groove surface of the wire groove 15 comes close to the center of the drum, and reaches the winding barrel 11. In order to smoothly transfer the wire, a part of an inlet 15a of the wire groove 15 is provided with an inclined surface 17, and furthermore, the flange 12 of the shelf 13 is eliminated in a range from the inlet 15a to a point S appropriately separated from the inlet 15a.

    • PURPOSE:To lessen the microbending of the title unit, and to reduce the increase of the transmission loss of the title unit, even if a temperature and a lateral pressure change by using an UV curable silicon as a filling layers, and by specifying the Young's modulus of the 1st and 2nd fillers respectively. CONSTITUTION:The UV curable silicon 3 is filled the space of the optical fibers 2a-2f. The 1st filling layer 4 of composed of an UV curable urethane resin filled with the UV curable silicon 3 having a low Young's modulus of, for example, 7kg/mm which covers an outer surface of the cable conductor assemble of the optical fiber. The 2nd filling layer 5 is composed of an UV curable epoxy resin having a high Young's modulus of for example, 40kg/mm which covers as mentioned above. The nylon layer which usually covers an optical fiber as the 2nd coatings for improving the peeling property of between the UV curable urethane resin and the optical fiber may be omitted. If the UV curable urethane resin having the high Young's modulus of 30-70kg/mm is used as the 2nd filling layer 5, the increase of the transmission loss unit against the temp. and the lateral pressure of the title unit are greatly reduced.
