    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a compact device for melting/holding a material, capable of storing and holding a large quantity of a molten material while dealing with a molding cycle, wherein a tubular body is adopted for melting a bar-shaped material, and the holding device consisting of a tank body and a tubular body is adopted for storing and holding the molten material.
      SOLUTION: The holding device for the molten material is composed of: an upper holding tank; and a lower material temperature regulation tube consisting of a tubular body, which has a small diameter and is vertically connected to the lower part at the center of the bottom surface of the tank body. A melting tube for a bar-shaped material is formed as a tubular body having an inner diameter and a length which are adapted for storing the bar-shaped material. A plurality of the tubular bodies are longitudinally arranged in parallel to the cover member of the holding tank, and the lower end openings thereof are made to face the inside of the holding tank.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for preventing leaking of molten metal from a nozzle of an injection apparatus for metal forming with a plunger therein by operation of the plunger without installing a control system for a nozzle temperature or a valve mechanism.
      SOLUTION: This injection apparatus for metal forming is equipped with the plunger movable in cylinder body having the nozzle on its tip and a furnace for melting and holding metallic material provided above a feeding port drilled at the upside of the cylinder body. In the apparatus, the plunger is forcibly set back from its advance limit position to its retreat position located at the rear of the feeding port, while maintaining nozzle touch after completion of injection process. Then molten metal in the melting/holding furnace is flowed into the cylinder body and measured. After completion of measuring, the plunger is moved forward at low speed from its retreat position to waiting position located at the front of the feeding port to close the feeding port. Consequently molten metal between the cylinder body and the melting/holding furnace is blocked off to prevent molten metal leakage from the nozzle.

By this mechanism, inspection of foreign matters on mold register surfaces can be performed by min. mold closing force.
