摘要： PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress degradation of reliability due to thermal stress in an optical component in which an optical element chip formed by butt-connecting a plurality of waveguide type optical elements with different thermal expansion coefficients is fixed on a mount.SOLUTION: An optical component 300 includes: an optical element chip 310 which has an LN waveguide 311, a first PLC waveguide 312 connected to one end of the LN waveguide 311, a second PLC waveguide 313 connected to the other end of the LN waveguide 311, and a fiber aligning member 314 connected to the first PLC waveguide 312; a mount 320 having the optical element chip 310 attached thereto; and an optical fiber 330 aligned by the fiber aligning member 314. A connecting surface between the first PLC waveguide 312 and the fiber aligning member 314 is to be a tilted structure, and connecting surfaces between the LN waveguide 311 and the first and the second PLC waveguides 312 and 313 are to be a right-angle structure. In the right-angle structure, the connecting surfaces are connected with an adhesive having a Young's modulus lower than that used for the connecting surface in the tilted structure.
