    • PURPOSE:To manufacture a roll which is high in its use efficiency, and is inexpensive, by bend-forming like a ring a flat square material or a profile, and fitting it to a base material being an inside roll. CONSTITUTION:A flat square material 1 of die steel is bend-formed like a ring by a roll 2, and thereafter, its both ends are joined by flash butt welding 3, by which a ring 4 is formed. This ring 4 is used as an outside ring roll of a necessary part and is fitted to a base material 5 being an inside roll. In this way, as for the ring 4 which is welded after bend-working the flat square material 1, its shaving amount is small, therefore, the use yield is extremely high, and also the working expense is low.

      CONSTITUTION: A pair of circular cutting edges 1a, 1b and 2a, 2b, the right and left, are fitted on the upper and lower shafts 1 and 2, respectively, where the edges 1a and 2a shall shear one side of a metal band longwise and the edges 1b and 2b shall the other side to yield a strip of material with a specified width L. When the edges are to be moved, the edge shift nut 9 is rotated around the shaft 1 for movement in parallel with the shaft, that will shift the cutting edge 1a in engagement with a hook-shaped projection parallelly to the axis in the same direction as the nut 9 guided by a guide groove, so that the space between the cutting edges 1a and 1b can be adjusted into any intended dimension easily and accurately.

    • PURPOSE:To produce efficiently the tapered groove section having the lip and flange of high dimensional accuracy by using the upper die divided into three blocks and the lower die divided into four blocks. The upper die 10 is descended again and the plate stock is pressed into the recessed part of the two blocks of the center die 20 of the lower die 11 by a center die ' 12 and the right and left both sides of the center part of the plate stock are made to the prescribed tapered angle with the longitudinal direction. With the bend formation at the prescribed angle upward the tapered groove form stock having the lip 30 of about pentagonal section is obtd.

    • PURPOSE: To manufacture a non-defective goods with a short pipemaking line by preventing the bend, crook and torsion of products with rapid water cooling of the welding bead part of an electric welded steel pipe and yet with passing through a sizing roll with making the temp. ratio of the upper and lower faces of the welding part less than a fixed rate.
      CONSTITUTION: The welding bead of an electric welded pipe is cooled with rapid water cooling of at least about 300l/min to around 460°C of below a point Ms and the temp. ratio of the upper and lower faces of the welding part is made ≤1.5. When it is passed through a sizing roll with this condition, such inconveniences as the bend, crook, torsion, etc. of a forming pipe are prevented. The cooling line is remarkably shortened as well and the management is made easy and the equipment area is reduced.

Both the divided rolls 8 determine its prescribed distance L by travelling, and the band plate is continuously formed.

    • PURPOSE: To produce efficiently and continuously a square steel pipe by subjecting successively a steel strip having a prescribed width to top side corner and bottom side corner bending by means of longitudinal die plates synchronized with the feed speed during bend pressing and subjecting the same to welding, bead removing, leveling and standard size cutting after square forming with rolls.
      CONSTITUTION: The steel strip 1 which is un-coiled 2 is leveled by a leveler 4 and is welded at the front and rear ends by a welder 5. The strip is then cut to the prescribed width by an edge preparing machine 9 and is fed into a top side corner bending press 11 by constant speed feed rolls 10. The top side of the steel strip is successively bent to about 80° in the press 11 by the longitudinal upper die 20 and lower die 30 moving synchronously at the feed speed of the strip 1 by cylinders 34, 39 during pressing. The steel strip enters a bottom side corner bending press 13 after top side corner forming 12 and is bent about 80° at the bottom side 2 bend part by the longitudinal upper die 48 and lower die 49 operating similarly. The strip is thereafter subjected to roll 90° forming 14, butt welding 15, 16, bead removing 18, shaping 19, leveling 20 and standard size cutting 21, by which the steel strip is made into the prescribed square steel pipe P. The efficient and continuous production of the square steel pipe P to the good shape is thus made possible.
