    • PURPOSE:To extremely simplify a structure and perform efficient piling of sheets, by forming a piling device with a linear motor. CONSTITUTION:Sheets S, cut by a drum shear, are carried out at a high speed to a conveyor 3 on the conveying-out side of the shear, and the forward end thereof is detected by a detector 11. By means of such detecting signal, an electromagnet 10 and a linear motor 9 are magnetized, and the sheet S sucked up by the electromagnet 10 is taken over to the linear motor 9. During a process in which the sheet moves forward along the motor 9, a rapid braking force produced by the linear motor 9 is exerted to decelerate the sheet S to a desired speed. Right before or at the time when the sheet S collides with a stopper 7, the forward end of the linear motor 9 is brought to an OFF-state, and the sheet S parting from the motor 9 is piled on a piler lift 6.

    • PURPOSE:To perform steady and efficient lapping of a sheet, by exerting brake force on the sheet passing a shear line by means of a linear motor located above the shear line and exerting brake force on the dropping sheet again for deceleration thereof by means of a linear motor situated below the shear line. CONSTITUTION:Sheets S, cut by a shear, are moved forward by a conveyor 3 on the carrying-out side of the shear, and when the forward end thereof is detected by a detector 12, an electromagnet 11 and a linear motor 9 are excited by means of the detecting signal to take over the sheet S sucked to the electromagnet 11, by the linear motor 9. After the sheet S, whereon the brake force applied by the linear motor 9 is exerted, is decelerated to the extent that the subsequent sheet is prevented from colliding with this sheet, the front part of the linear motor 9 is de-magnetized. When a linear motor 8 and an electromagnet 4a, assembled in a piling conveyor 4, simultaneously, are excited, the sheet drops onto the conveyor 4.     • PURPOSE:To control the distribution of tension of a sheet at the inlet side for preventing the meandering of sheet, by imposing a tension on the sheet end of the meandering direction of the sheet which is running while being wrapped around either an upper roll or a lower one, in a wrapping type rolling. CONSTITUTION:A dancer roll 4 whose both ends are made independently movable in the vertical direction is provided to the sheet 3 inlet side of a work roll 1 rotating at a high speed and a lower work roll 2 rotating at a lower speed than the roll 1. The sheet 3 at the inlet side is wrapped around the lower side of the roll 4 locating under rolls 5, 5 without being wrapped around the roll 2, and is inserted into a gap 6 between the rolls 1, 2 and wrapped successively around the roll 1 thereby the sheet 3 is rolled. When the generation of the meandering of sheet 3 is detected at the inlet side, the sheet drawing speed at the meander- generating side is decreased by tilting the roll 4 to raise the sheet tension at said side. Thus the meandering of sheet is prevented and a rolled sheet having excellent shape is obtained.

    • PURPOSE:To obtain a descaled steel strip having surface residue and plating characteristics in the same level as those of a steel plate descaled by pickling, by mechanically grinding the surface of the hot rolled steel strip after blasting a slurry on it, in descaling the strip by wet blasting. CONSTITUTION:In descaling a hot rolled steel strip by blasting a slurry, prepared by mixing water and abrasive grain, while accelerating the slurry with highly pressurized water, the surface of strip just before or after the descaling is ground by a mechanical operation such as buffing, sanding, and brushing, for making up the descaling. Then grinding mark in the surface of strip, caused by the collision between the surface and grinding material at the time of blasting, is improved, and sticking of the grinding material crushed into fine particles is removed. Thus, a steel strip, having surface residue and micro-cross-sectional profile and plating characteristics in the same level as those of a steel strip descaled by pickling, is obtained.

    • PURPOSE:To prevent heat scratching and chattering by measuring the surface temps. of work rolls during rolling actually, and maintaining the surface temps. of the rolls in an optimum temp. range in accordance with these. CONSTITUTION:In tandem rolling mills or the like, a work roll surface thermometer 20 is installed to, for example, a No.6 stand to measure the surface temp. of said roll. On the other hand, the optimum temps. determined by products and rolling speeds are set in an optimum temp. setter 21. The set temp. and the actually measured temp. are fed to a differential amplifier 24, by which the deviation thereof is determined. This deviation is inputted to an amplifier 22 which outputs the proportional signal corresponding to the deviation input. The proportional signal is converted with a coolant flow rate with a converter 23, which outputs a command signal for the correcting operation of valve opening of a pressure control valve 19. According to this signal, the coolant flow rate to the roll is controlled with coolant flowmeters 8-13, and roll coolant pressure control valves 14-19, whereby the prescribed surface temp. of the work rolls is maintained.
