    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To eliminate harmful effects caused by steam of fuel entering a fuel pump 11, while cooling a nozzle 36a of an injector 36 for intake-port injection with the fuel after a stop of an engine 1 to allow formation of deposits to be effectively prevented.SOLUTION: A fuel injection device includes an injector 36 and a fuel pump 11 that supplies fuel to the injector via a fuel supply pipe 10. The fuel injection device includes: a cooling passage 37a that communicates with the fuel supply pipe 10 and cools a nozzle 36a of the injector 36 with circulating fuel; a return pipe 14 for returning fuel to a side of the fuel pump 11; and an electromagnetic valve 15 (on-off valve) that is openable and closable between the fuel supply pipe 10 and the cooling passage 37a. The fuel pump 11 is activated, and the electromagnetic valve 15 is opened to circulate fuel to the cooling passage 37a, during a predetermined period after a stop of an engine. After the predetermined period elapses, the fuel pump 11 is stopped and the electromagnetic valve 15 is closed.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fuel injection valve of an internal combustion engine, which has a structure capable of suppressing deposition of a combustion product on an injection hole provided and deflected by a predetermined angle from the center axis of a nozzle body.SOLUTION: With the lift operation of a needle valve 20 supported to be operable to lift in a nozzle body 10, fuel to be filled in and supplied to the nozzle body 10 is injected and supplied to an internal combustion engine through an injection hole 10H. The injection hole 10H is formed in a sack part 11 having a space to be a receiving part of fuel inside the tip end of the nozzle body 10, in such a form that the injection hole is deflected from a common center axis CL1 of the nozzle body 10 and the needle valve 20. The volume formed by the space shape of the sack part 11 and by the tip end shape of the needle valve 20 is controlled in such a manner that a volume in a side where the injection hole 10H is present with respect to the common center axis CL1 of the nozzle body 10 and of needle valve 20 is smaller than a volume in a side where the injection hole 10H is not present with respect to the common center axis CL1.

Consequently, a formic acid in the exhaust gas is decomposed and the generation of the deposit around the addition valve 5 is prevented.

The controller is also provided with an ECU 6 which increases the temperature of the injection section by controlling the sparking time of the spark plug on an advance side when the amount of sulfur contained in the fuel calculated based on the value of the sulfur detecting sensor exceeds a predetermined value and the temperature of the injection section calculated by the temperature calculating section is lower than the predetermined value by controlling the valve timing of an inlet valve 16 on an advanced side, and by controlling the pressure of supplied fuel by the high pressure fuel pump on a high pressure side.
