摘要： PURPOSE:To eliminate the deformation of a honeycomb core body at the time of the preparation thereof and to facilitate processing, by forming a corrugated foil and a flat foil from a foil composed of a rolled material of stainless steel and superposing both of them to wind the same into a cylindrical form. CONSTITUTION:The honeycomb core body 2 inserted in a cylindrical outer cylinder 1 to become the exhaust gas purifying device of a car is formed by superposing a corrugated foil 3, which is formed by molding a thin stainless steel foil into a corrugated shape, and a plate-shaped foil 4 composed of said stainless steel foil and winding both of them into an almost cylindrical form. The stainless steel foil used in the corrugated foil 3 and the plate-shaped foil 4 is composed of, for example, a rolled material obtained by rolling ferrite type stainless steel containing aluminum but applying no heat-treatment after rolling. A solder material layer can be allowed to cover the entire surface of the stainless steel foil and a catalytic substance for purifying exhaust gas such as platinum is applied to the surfaces of both foils 3, 4 of the honeycomb core body 2 being obtained.

摘要： PURPOSE:To eliminate spaces and enhance exhaust gas cleaning rate, by corresponding the step difference at the edges of the end of winding of a corrugated foil and a planar foil formed on the outer periphery surface of a honeycomb core body with the stepped of part a jointing section of an outer cylinder. CONSTITUTION:An outer cylinder 1 is provided by bending a stainless steel sheet into a cylindrical shape, and the jointing sections 10 on the periphery surface are piled together, while a stepped part 11 of the same thickness as that of the stainless steel sheet is formed on the inner surface of the outer cylinder 1. The thickness of said stepped part 1 is almost the same as the total thickness of a corrugated foil 3 and a planar foil 4 of a honeycomb core body 2, and the honeycomb core body 2 formed by piling-up the corrugated foil 3 and the planar foil 4 together and winding the same into a cylindrical shape is adhered to the inner surface of the outer cylinder 1 without gaps and inserted thereinto.

摘要： PURPOSE:To manufacture easily an exhaust cleaning device of simple structure, a core body of which is bent corresponding to the shape of an outer cylinder, by constituting the title device with a bent pipe outer cylinder and a flexible core body inserted into said outer cylinder. After said honeycomb core body 2 is inserted, a retaining projected section 3 of the outer cylinder 1 is bent inwardly to prevent said honeycomb core body 2 from slipping off.

The bonded surfaces of the corrugated foil 3 and the planer foil 4 of the honeycomb core body 2 are covered with catalyst substances for exhaust cleaning such as platinum and the like.

摘要： PURPOSE:To obtain a carrier for an exhaust gas catalyst capable of withstanding under severe environment by a method requiring no additional soldering work, by integrating a honeycomb carrier matrix with a cartridge comprising an outer cylinder by diffusion treatment and subsequently oxidizing the integrated one to convert the same to alumina. CONSTITUTION:Al-foils 2 are laminated to the upper and lower surfaces of a honeycomb substrate 1 through a reducing agent 3, and the flat plate and the corrugated board both of which are made of this laminated material are formed into a roll shape or molded in a laminated state to be set to an outer cylinder and, thereafter, the whole is subjected to diffusion treatment at 300-650 deg.C under vacuum or a reductive atmosphere to be integrated. Subsequently, in order to obtain a catalyst carrier covered with Al2O3 being a high m.p. substance excellent in oxidation resistance, the integrated one is subjected to oxidation treatment at 800-1,000 deg.C in the atmosphere to be converted to alumina. By this method, all of the contact points of the flat plate and the corrugated board each being the honeycomb substrate can be perfectly bonded.
