    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cooling liquid composition having an excellent corrosion suppression effect to a magnesium alloy. SOLUTION: The cooling liquid composition consists essentially of a melting-point lowering agent selected from the group consisting of glycols and alcohols and contains a corrosion inhibitor selected from fluorides. The corrosion resistance of an Mg alloy is considered to be improved by stabilization of Mg resulted from bonding of the fluorine ions derived from the fluorides to the Mg alloy existing on the surface. In such a case, the cooling liquid composition preferably contains the corrosion inhibitor at a content of 50 to 10,000 mg in terms of a fluorine element per litter of an aqueous composition solution prepared by dissolving the cooling liquid composition into water. Further, the corrosion inhibitor preferably contains sodium fluoride, potassium fluoride and/or ammonium fluoride. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
