      SOLUTION: The impact driver 10 has a motor 18, a gear box 20, and a driving mechanism 22 connected to an output shaft of the gear box 20. The impact driver is equipped with a distortion gauge 50 attached to a carrier 34 of the driving mechanism 22, a counting section 54 for counting output signals from the distortion gauge 50 as the number of times of driving, and a driving circuit 52 for terminating the motor 18 when the number of times of driving counted by the counting section 54 exceeds a set value.
