    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hydrogen production apparatus having a catalyst housing body in which an air permeable case is packed with pellet type catalyst of a quota evenly, being superior in hydrogen production efficiency, and preventing deterioration of a hydrogen separation body.SOLUTION: A hydrogen production apparatus 1 has a device shell 2, a hydrogen separation body 3, and a catalyst housing body 4. The catalyst housing body 4 is a unit in which a double tubular air permeable case 10 having a permeable inner peripheral wall 11 and outer peripheral wall 12 is packed with granular reforming catalyst 15. A plurality of catalyst housing bodies 4 is put on the hydrogen separation body 3 from outside and is arranged to be piled up within the device shell 2 by multistage. Reformed gas containing hydrogen gas is provided by source gas contacting with the reforming catalyst 15, and the hydrogen having passed through the hydrogen separation body 3 selectively is taken out from an extraction opening 6.
