    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a shear molding machine which manufactures a polymer blend material having a microscopically dispersed structure such as a co-continuous structure or the like by kneading and extruding a polymer blend sample under high shearing by adopting an inner returning type screw.
      SOLUTION: In the shear molding machine a rotation number of the screw can be arbitrarily established in a range from 50 to 3,000 rpm when the polymer blend sample is kneaded in a molten state with the screw. By adopting the inner returning type screw, it is possible to arbitrarily establish a kneading time decreasing inversely proportionally to the rotation number of the screw. The manufactured polymer blend material has a microscopically dispersive structure in which one polymer component of the sample containing a plurality of the polymer components is a matrix, and the other polymer component has a size of a dispersive phase controlled at sizes of scores of nano meters.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new melt-kneaded object of incompatible polymer blend, its resin molded article and their manufacturing method.
      SOLUTION: A new melt-kneaded blend having uniform and microscopic dispersion structure and superior mechanical properties is obtained by arranging a high shear molding conditions such as rotational frequency of an inner returning type screw, kneading time under a fixed rotational frequency, etc.; in the case when the incompatible polymer blend is melt-kneaded under the rotational frequency of screw of 400-1,200 rpm using a minute quantity type high shear molding machine equipped with the inner returning type screw while inducing interface reaction between polymers by adding a compatibilizer to the incompatible polymer blend of a specific proportion so that the reaction may be promoted and made efficient by a high shear field.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a novel structure, wherein a filler is dispersed in a resin selected from a non-compatible thermoplastic resin and a thermosetting resin and/or an elastomer, and to provide use of the novel structure. SOLUTION: The novel structure is a co-continuous structure including two components selected from the non-compatible thermoplastic resin, thermosetting resin, and elastomer, and in one of the components, the filler is selectively and uniformly dispersed. In a method for producing the structure, processing is carried out in the condition of a screw revolution speed of 100-3,000 rpm and a shear rate of 150-4,500 sec -1 after feeding materials from a supply part arranged at the end of a melting and kneading part wherein a heating part is mounted to a cylinder having a screw, and after trapping the processed materials in a clearance at the front end of the screw, the processed materials are moved circulatingly from the clearance to the rear end of the screw.
