    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem that a uniaxially stretched molded object, which comprises a blend of two compatible crystalline polymers and has a mutually segregated type lamellar repeated structure, becomes large in the strength in its stretching direction as compared with a non-stretched molded object before stretching but becomes small in the strength in the direction vertical to the stretching direction.
      SOLUTION: A mixture of two compatible crystalline polymers is heat-treated while one crystalline polymer is perfectly melted adding tension or deformation stress for restricting a form of the mixture at a temperature wherein one crystalline polymer is perfectly melted and the other crystalline polymer is present to form a crystalline polymer blend having an alternately laminated lamellar repeated structure or the mutually segregated type lamellar repeated structure.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a uniaxially oriented film the strength in the orientation direction of which is higher than the strength of the unoriented film of crystalline isotactic polystyrene constituting the film, and the strength in the direction perpendicular to the orientation direction of which of a resin composition including crystalline isotactic polystyrene and polyphenylene oxide in the molar ratio 9:1 to 5:5 is similar to the strength of the unoriented film of crystalline isotactic polystyrene constituting the film.
      SOLUTION: The film of the resin composition including crystalline isotactic polystyrene and polyphenylene oxide in the molar ratio 9:1 to 5:5, after being uniaxially oriented, is heat-treated. The uniaxially oriented film is produced that includes crystalline isotactic polystyrene and polyphenylene oxide in which the crystal of the crystalline isotactic polystyrene is highly oriented in the orientation direction of the film, and the molecular chain of the polyphenylene oxide is oriented randomly.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a film having a new ordered structure and produced by compositing a block copolymer with clay and controlling the arrangement of the clay and nano-domains in high order and provide a method for producing the film.
      SOLUTION: The highly oriented film is composed of a poly(ethylene oxide-styrene) block copolymer (PEO-b-PS)-clay nano-composite having a lamellar structure and satisfies the requirements that (1) the formed lamellar structure has an Mw/Mn ratio of ≤1.1 and a PEO/PS weight ratio of 65/35 to 35/65, (2) the lamella of the block copolymer is highly oriented on the film face, (3) the PEO crystal is highly oriented in the lamellar structure, (4) the weight ratio of the clay is 2-20% and (5) the block copolymer is intercalated between the layers of the clay. The invention further provides a method for producing the film.
