    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To manufacture a welded section steel which has T-shaped joint parts, has no recesses at welded parts, and has a high jointing strength in a simple method when manufacturing it through a laser welding method. SOLUTION: A laser beam 4 is irradiated to the joining parts 3 of the ends of web materials while pushing the ends of the web materials 2 against flange materials 1 when manufacturing the welded section steel by forming the T-shaped joint parts by vertically pushing the ends of web materials 2 against the flange materials 1 both of which comprise a steel sheet through a laser welding. Preferably the laser beam 4 is irradiated with a tilt angle α of ≤30° to the flange material 1. This welding method is applied to the manufacture of the welded section steel using, as the flange material and web material, a plated steel sheet to which Zn-based plating, preferably alloy plating containing Zn and Al, or more preferably alloy plating containing Zn, Al, and Mg is applied. • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To inexpensively provide a W (tungsten)- or Mo (molybdenum)-based electrode which is used for spot welding in which the electrode is repeatedly subjected to heating and pressurization, and which has stable and enhanced durability by suppressing attrition and breakage at the working face of the electrode.
SOLUTION: The electrode for spot welding has a double structure comprising an electrode body of Cu or a Cu alloy and a core material of a W, Mo, W-based alloy or a Mo-based alloy which is embedded in the face of the electrode body abutting on a material to be welded. The core material is sintered, swaged and then annealed. The W, Mo, W-based alloy or the Mo-based alloy used as the core material has an average particle diameter of not less than 50 μm at a cross section thereof, and has a fibrous structure extended axially so as to have an aspect ratio of 1.5 or more.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To avoid the occurrence of pocket wave in a roll forming stage with certainty by selecting manufacturing conditions so that the tensile strength and compressive strength, in a longitudinal direction, of a metal take values in specific ranges, respectively. SOLUTION: A stock is used at the time of forming a metal strip into a wide-cross-section product by roll forming. The absolute value of the yield stress when the stock is compressed in a longitudinal direction is regulated so that it is >=92% of the value of the yield stress when the stock is stretched in a longitudinal direction. These yield stresses can be replaced by the proof stress at 0.2% contraction or the proof stress at 2% elongation. A formed product obtained by roll forming is a wide-cross-section product having a flat part with a length >=90 times the plate thickness in a width direction. The proof stress at contraction does not take a value lower than the proof stress at stretching by >30MPa. The material of the stock is plain steel or stainless steel. By this method, restrictions in product shape can be avoided, and the necessity of particular countermeasures to forming means and equipment can be obviated.
