    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To recover those of abrasive grains and working fluid at each specified grain size by carrying out a classifying process in regard to the solid phase separated from a spent cutting composition, and separating it to plural liquid phases containing abrasive grains of the specified grain size. SOLUTION: First of all, a secured spent composition is separated into the solid phase, where abrasive grains are settled, and the liquid phase or working fluid. With the secured solid phase stirred up, the abrasive grains are uniformly dispersed around, and thereby stock slurry is prepared. This stock slurry is charged into a cylindrical classifying tank (a) whose lower part is formed into being conically shaped, and then a constant flow rate of water is stably fed out of a water supply port a1 at a lower part of this classifying tank (a). At this time, those of unrefined abrasive grains by cutting work are left behind in the classifying tank (a). The slurry containing the yet smaller abrasive grains and unnecessaries is overflowed from an upper distributing water port a2 of the classifying tank (a), and it comes into another classifying tank (b) from a slurry supply port b1 at a lower part of this classifying tank (b). Likewise, hereafter, even those of classifying tanks (b) and (c) collect the liquid phase containing abrasive grains of the specified grain size respectively.
