    • PURPOSE:To produce easily a lightweight cam shaft having oil feed holes communicating with a hollow hole in the stage of casting the cam shaft by a centrifugal casting, by providing hole casting pins freely attachably and detachably in the cam parts and journal parts in a casting mold. CONSTITUTION:A casting mold 5 having the casting cavity part 5c corresponding to the shape of a cam shaft 4 is supported with a rotating mechanism 2 and a bearing 3 and is rotated at a high speed around the axial center. Hole casting pins 8 are beforehand mounted in the parts in the mold 5 corresponding to the cam parts 4a and journal parts 4b of the cam shaft. While the mold 5 is kept rotated at a high speed, molten metal for casting is charged therein and is solidified. A hollow part 4c is formed in the central part of the molten metal in the mold 5 by centrifugal force and if the pins 8 are removed, the oil feed holes communicating from the hollow part 4c are formed simply and easily in the cam parts 4a and journal parts 4b of the cam shaft 4.

    • PURPOSE:To obtain a cylindrical body of which surface has no generation of cracks by forming at least one of an external die and an intermediate die like a taper and pressing the intermediate die to a plastic material accomodated in the external die to make the material flow while applying compressive stress to the material. CONSTITUTION:Under the status that an intermediate die 13 is inserted into an external die 12, at least one of an external die side 12b and an intermediate die side 13a is formed like a taper so that the space between the side 12a and side 13a is gradually reduced in the direction of an opening 12a of the external die 12. When the intermediate die 13 is inserted and pressed after acoomodating a plastic material 4 into the external die 12, the material 4 moves upwards along the external die side 12b and the internal die side 13a by plastic fluidity. In this case, the circular sectional area of the material 4 is gradually reduced in the directon of plastic fluidity of the material 4, so that the material moves plastically while receiving compressive stress. This method prevents the internal and external walls 11a, 11b of the cylindrical body 11 from the generation of cracks after prodution.

    • PURPOSE:To manufacture a cylindrical composite-mold product of uniform quality, by inserting a grooved work-rod into a blank material of cylindrical base-metal mold-product which is inserted into a cylindrical frame body, and heat-melting the internal peripheral surface of the blank material, in rotating relatively and adding an addive to disperse it uniformly into the inner circumference. CONSTITUTION:After inserting a cylindrical frame-body 1 into a heating device 32, a blank material of cylindrical base-metal mold-product 34 is inserted into the frame 1. Next, a work-rod 19 provided with plural grooves 27, which consists of a high electric- resistance low-permeability material, is coaxially inserted to the blank material 34; the rod 19 is preferentially heated with a high-frequency induction-heating system by actuating the device 32 while rotating the frame 1, and then the inner peripheral part of the material 34 is made into semi-molten state by the heat radiation and heat conduction. Next, from a hopper 31, granular or fibrous additives are supplied and is sent to the grooves 27 of the rod 19 through a guide hole 30. Hereby the additives are dispersed and mixed uniformly in the place where it is effected by agitation caused by the relative rotation of rod 19 accompanied with the rotation of frame 1 or material 34, then an objective cylindrical composite- mold product is manufactured.
