CONSTITUTION:The continuous annealing installation is provided with the heating zone 1 for heating a steel strip A up to the prescribed temp. above the recrystallization temp., the soaking zone 2 for holding the strip at the temp. of the zone 1, the cooling zone 3 for slow cooling of the strip down to the prescribed temp. for starting the quick cooling, the quick cooling zone 4 for quick cooling of the strip with cooling rolls 5 down to the prescribed quick cooling end temp., the holding zone 6 for holding of the strip at the final cooling temp., the secondary heating zone 7 for heating the strip with heating rolls 8 up to the prescribed aging temp., the overaging zone 9 for holding the strip at the overaging temp. and the secondary cooling zone 10 for cooling down to the ordinary temp. The heating rolls 8 are heretofore not usable owing to the heat resistance of the rolls but in this part the strip is required to be heated in the low temp. part of, for example, 250 400 deg.C and therefore there is no problem of the heat resistance and the thermal efficiency is remarkably improved as compared to other systems.

    • PURPOSE:To elevate the produce quality by detecting the plate width of at least one part of rolled stock of the inlet side and outlet side of a rolling mill and by varying the distance between a work roll tapered part and an end edge of a rolled stock according to the deviation with a target value. CONSTITUTION:The feedback control of a plate width to the target plate thickness is performed by changing upper and lower work rolls 1a, 1b simultaneously in reverse direction to the axial part according to the deviation between the plate width detected by a plate width detector 3 and the target plate thickness. Namely, the plate width detected by the detector 3 is inputted into a computing element 4 and converted to a roll gap area from the deviation with the target width. The target shift position of a roll is also calculated with adding the deviation to the actual area which is found from the actual shift position and inputted into a position controller 5. The device 5 then moves symmetrically in the axial direction the rolls 1a, 1b via shifting devices 6a, 6b. Consequently due to good plate width control being enabled, the product quality is elevated.

A steel strip 2 is cooled by passing the same through n-pieces of such cooling rolls 1. The rolls 2 are disposed in such a relation that satisfies the equation [ I ] among D, d, n and therefore the strip is kept free from a shape defect that may arise from the defective contact with the rolls 1. In the equation ( I ), t is the max. thickness of the traveling strip (mm.) and T is the contact time with the rolls 1(min).
