    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a connecting structure for steel pipes and a steel pipe structure, wherein an axial force acting on the steel pipes can be surely transmitted, costs can be reduced and construction efficiency can be increased. SOLUTION: The contact end face 23 of an upper steel pipe 2 and contact end face 33 of a lower steel pipe 3 are brought in contact with each other, and bolts 41 serving as connecting members 4 are mounted so as to cross the contact end faces 23 and 33 at a given tilt angle. As a result, from the upper steel pipe 2 to the lower steel pipe 3, a compressive axial force is transmitted via the contact end faces 23 and 33 while a tensile axial force is transmitted via the bolts 41. The bolts 41 is provided crossing the end faces 23 and 33, to reduce projection dimensions of an outwardly projecting portion 22 of the upper steel pipe 2 and the head portions of the bolts 41. Tightening the bolts 41 from the outside of the steel pipes improves workability in the connection work, and thus improves the construction efficiency of a steel pipe pile 1.
