摘要： PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform electromagnetic stirring while giving sufficient circulating flow to molten metal below a meniscus even in the case of being high speed casting for improving the surface flaw on a billet, center segregation and the solidified structure, in a continuous casting. SOLUTION: In this device, in a mold, horizontal plane circulating flow type electromagnetic stirring coils are disposed by (n) steps and magnetic poles at these (n) steps of the coils are shifted in order at each 360/n deg.. In this stirring method, the spiral-state circulating flow is generated in the molten metal in the mold by disposing the (n) steps of the horizontal plane circulating type electromagnetic stirring coils to the mold below the meniscus level in the mold and shifting the magnetic poles of the (n) steps of the coils at each 360/n deg. in order to stir the molten metal below the meniscus. The billet in which the development of the surface flaw and the center segregation are sufficiently restrained and which is excellent in the solidified structure, can stably be produced at high speed casting.

摘要： PURPOSE:To provide a cooling structure capable of facilitating extremely uniform heat conductive cooling to a cast slab in a mold for continuous casting. CONSTITUTION:A cooling water passage 10 is constituted of a mold tube 8A and a frame plates 9 positioned outside. A lower part water supplying vessel for supplying cooling water into a cooling water passage 10 at the lower part and an upper water discharging vessel 17 for discharging the cooling water from the cooling water passage 10 at the upper part of the cooling water passage 10 are arranged. In the lower part water supplying vessel, a water supplying nozzle directing the water supplying direction to the tangential direction of the lower part water supplying vessel to form a circular water supplying vessel 18 for giving the supplied cooling water the circular flow. In the circular water supplying vessel 18, straightening flow plates 20 are arranged in the circumferential direction. By this structure, the flowing speed of the cooling water over the peripheral direction of the cooling water passage is uniformized and therefore, the cooling capacity is uniformized. The rhombic deformation and the surface cracking can drastically be reduced, and the quality and the yield of the cast slab are remarkably improved.
