    • PURPOSE:To reduce the rate of damage of the inner wall of a converter and to prolong the life of the converter by lining the inner wall of the converter with a nonaqueous monolithic material contg. coarse magnesia aggregate of a prescribed size filed into a space including recesses between projected stud bricks. CONSTITUTION:Studs 5 are formed in a converter by partially projecting wear bricks 3 on the charge wall side 4 of the converter. A nonaqueous monolithic material contg. coarse magnesia aggregate of 60-80mm maximum size is filled into a space including recesses between the studs 5 to line the inner wall of the converter. The filled monolithic refractory lining is contained, and a stable structure having improved bonding strength is formed.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To hit and break only a part desired to remove or demolish the inner surface of a vessel with the tip part of a chisel by tilting, elevating/lowering, swinging and advancing/retreating in the horizontal direction to a chisel type breaker to adjust the position of the chisel. SOLUTION: A hitting and breaking device 1 for the inner surface of the vessel is transported to the lower part of a circulating flow tube 3 of a DH vessel 2. The chisel type breaker 8 is controlled by the advancing/retreating movement of a transporting truck 27, the swinging movement centering the axial line 16 of a swing disk 15, the elevating/retreating movement of an elevating part 12 and the tilting movement with a hydraulic cylinder 10 to adjust the tip part of the spear type chisel 6 so as to direct to the desirable position of the circulating flow tube 3. A circulating flow type brick 5 at the desirable position is hit by the tip part of the chisel 6 with a driving means 7 to demolish the circulating flow tube brick 5 at this part. At the time of completing the demolishing at this part, the transporting truck 27 is advanced/retreated to adjust the position of chisel 6, or the swing disk 15 is swung to shift the tip part of the chisel 6 along the inner wall of the circulating flow tube 3, and the demolishing at the following desirable position is executed.
