    • PURPOSE:To simultaneously perform dust-proof remedy and cooling by opening a mechanically unnecessary part of a strut of a right side surface of a brushless DC motor as much as possible for air cooling and providing a metal net. CONSTITUTION:An outer rotor type direct drive type motor has a sensor 20 and an encoder 12 disposed outside a strut 2 of one side surface thereof to improve an allowable temperature limit in the motor, and an opening 9 provided partly at a strut 3 of the other side surface thereof. A metal net 10 is provided on the surface to prevent invasion of large dusts, etc. An L-shaped sectional ring 23 is attached to a cylinder 21 between a U-shaped sectional ring 22 fixed to a yoke 1 and the cylinder 21 fixed by teeth 5 and a winding 8 to prevent invasion of dusts. Surfaces 19 of inner space of the opening 9 are covered with resin for preventing deterioration of insulation due to moisture, etc. As a result, direct cooling and dust-proof remedy can be simultaneously executed.

    • PURPOSE:To measure the concentration with higher accuracy by inclining a projecting end face and a receiving end face of an optical fiber confronting to each other thereby to enlarge the change of the receiving amount of light. CONSTITUTION:A light emitted from a light emitting element 3 enters from an end of an optical fiber 1 at the projecting side to an end face at the leading edge of the optical fiber. Since the end face of the optical fiber 1 at the projecting side is inclined with predetermined angles B to a coaxial line, the light is projecting in the shape of a truncated cone having a part of an elongated circle in cross section as a top. When the index of refraction of a projected liquid is large, the projecting optical axis is directed upward (a) and the receiving amount of light becomes large. On the other hand, if the index of refraction of the liquid is small, the optical axis is turned downwards (b) and the receiving amount of light becomes small. Accordingly, the optical axis is moved and the receiving amount of light is changed depending on the index of refraction of the projected liquid. When the incident light reaches a photodetecting element 4, the photodetecting element 4 converts the change of the receiving amount of the change of a voltage. The converted signal voltage is amplified by an amplifier circuit 6 in a measuring apparatus 5 and input to a voltmeter 7. The concentration of the liquid at that time is displayed by the voltmeter 7.
