    • PURPOSE:To increase the accuracy of flow detection, by constitution that the air gap between inspected material and the transmission and reception coils and DC electromagnet iron core can uniformly be held irrespectively of the change in unevenness of the surface of inspected material. CONSTITUTION:The drive controlling circuit for up and down movement of the magnetic pole 12 is composed of the reference air gap setter 18, the 1st and 2nd differential amplifiers 19, 20 differentially operating with the output of air gap setter and the output signal of the air gap instruments 13, 17, and the automatic pulse phase shifter 21 operated with the differential amplifier output signal. First, if the surface of the inspected object 1 is flat, the attracting force of the floating electromagnet to the floating frame 16 is balanced with the self weight of the magnetic pole 12 and the floating electromagnet, and the air gaps G1, G2 hold the reference air gap. Next, if the surface of the inspected object 1 curves downward, since the exciting current of floating electromagnet is reduced corresponding to the amount of curve, the transmission and reception coil 7 moves downward with the magnetic pole 12 and the air gap G1 is kept constant. Further, the gap is uniformly held if the inspected object 1 curves upward, and the accuracy of flow detection can be increased.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To detect abnormal heat generation without adding any special hardware, and reduce the cost and size by performing the operation at every constant interval of time and detecting whether or not an electronic computer is normal or generating abnormal heat according to whether or not the operation result is correct. SOLUTION: This method consists of an input device, a central processing unit(CPU), an output device, and a storage device. For the CPU, an arithmetic logic unit(ALU) 301 which performs given logical operation and a group of general registers 302 which store data, are prepared. For example, operation such as floating-point operation is performed and the actual operation result is compared with a correct operation result calculated at the time of program generation to judge that the computer is normal when they match with each other or that normal calculation can not be done owing to abnormal heat generation when do not. Operation like this is performed at every certain interval of time and if abnormal heat generation is judged, a process for lowering the operating frequency is performed so as to cool the electronic computer.
