    • PURPOSE:To prevent crack at the time of reflow mounting and during actual use by forming a mixture film of a metal and a metal oxide having a specified thickness on the surface and the rear of a die pad surrounded by leads thereby enhancing the bonding strength between a lead frame and a seal resin. CONSTITUTION:A die pad 3 surrounded by leads 15 is coated, on the surface and rear thereof, with a mixture film or an inclination film 21. the thermal spraying method is most effective as a method for forming the film. The film material being employed is based on Al-Al2O3, Si-SiO2, Si-Al2O3 or Al-SiO2. In case of the mixture film, the mixing ratio of metal is preferably set in the range of 30-70% in order to satisfy the adhesion between the metal and die pad and between the metal oxide and resin. Since the adhesion effect is not achieved when the coating is too thin, the thickness of the coating is set at 1mum or above and the upper limit is set at 30mum in viewpoint of cost and labor.

    • PURPOSE:To provide the above tool having the high strength to withstand repetitive use by consisting of its inside of steel or cast iron and specifically and continuously changing the weight mixing ratios of ceramics to the material components in its inside and extreme surface between the specific parts of surface layer parts which come into contact with a work piece. CONSTITUTION:The tool steel having both of strength and toughness is preferably used as the internal material of dies and the cast iron is equally usable for the dies with which the load is lower. The dies 2, 4 and the punch 5 are formed to the mixed state of the ceramics from 0.5 to 3mm in their surface layer parts. The range of the depth is determined from the lower limit at which an effect of heat insulation is exhibited and the upper limit at which the strength and toughness are assured. The mixing ratios of the ceramics are continuously changed in such a manner that the range of 0.6 to 1.0 by weight is attained at the extreme surface. The kinds of the ceramics are ZrO2, SiC, Al2O3, etc., having a heat insulating effect and strength. As a result, intricate die forging is made possible and stages are shortened.

    • PURPOSE:To produce easily a composite steel pipe having a different metallic layer on the surface by coating and calcining preliminary glaze for enamel on the surface of a steel plate then immersing the pipe into the melt of the different metal in the stage of coating the different metal on the surface of the steel pipe. CONSTITUTION:The glaze for enamel consisting essentially of SiO2, B2O3, Na2O, CaO, Al2O3 or K2O is coated on the surface of the steel pipe 2 by spraying, etc. to 0.5-20mm thickness in the stage of coating the different material such as, for example, 'Hastelloy(R)' on the outside surface of the pipe 2. While the glazed steel pipe 2 is held and rotated by a holding mechanism 1, the coating layer is calcined at 600-900 deg.C in the atm. by a heating coil 6 to melt the iron oxide on the surface of the pipe 2 and to melt the same in the glaze by which the surface of the steel pipe is cleaned. A plug 3 for preventing the intrusion of the molten metal is attached to the top end of the pipe 2 and the pipe is immersed into the molten 'Hastelloy(R)' metal in a heating furnace 7, by which the composite steel pipe having the 'Hastelloy(R)' layer is produced on the surface of the pipe 2.
