    • PURPOSE:To add the effects of the characteristics due to mixed powder without deteriorating the characteristics of a plating metal itself by mixing dissimilar powder with a molten metal to be sprayed. CONSTITUTION:The inside of the system of equipment 10 is regulated, e.g., to an inert gas atmosphere. A strip-like metal S is introduced into a plating chamber 3, and a powder-mixed molten metal MP is sprayed from both sides of the strip S by means of spray nozzles 5 accompanied by a gas through gas pipes 4 for atomization. The above powder-mixed molten metal MP is obtained by blending a powder P from powder vessels 7 having powder throw-in regulation valves 6 with a molten metal M in molten metal vessels 8 and mixing them uniformly by means of agitating devices 9. As the powder P mixed into the molten metal M to be sprayed, metal powder, metal oxide, metal nitride, metal carbide, metal boride, etc., having relatively high melting points can be applied. By this method, the amount of dispersion of the powder in the plated layer can be arbitrarily selected, and the resulting plated sheet can immediately meet the characteristics required of a plated sheet.

    • PURPOSE:To facilitate and speed up switching of production of a plated steel sheet and a cold rolled steel sheet and switching of plating kinds by providing a flow rate controller in plating baths and regulating the flow rate of the plating metal which flows down from slits and is splashed by brush rolls. CONSTITUTION:The plating device is disposed on both sides of the transporting path for the steel sheet 1. The flow rate controllers 15 are provided in the plating liquid 13 to regulate the down flow rate of the plating metal flowing in the lower slits 14. The plating metal flowing down from bath cells 11 is splashed toward the surface of the steel sheet 1 by the brush rolls 16 provided below the bath cells 11 and is stuck to both the surfaces of the steel sheet 1. Only the one plating device is used in case of plating on one side. The kinds of the plating metals to be poured into the respective bath cells 11 are changed in case of applying different platings on the front and rear of the steel sheet 1. The steel sheet is passed through both the plating devices without using said devices in case of producing the cold rolled steel sheet.

    • PURPOSE:To easily and rapidly remove a foreign matter, such as plating metal sticking to a slit by locating the gas injection hole of a blower so that it is opposed to the slit of a wiping nozzle and also making this gas injection hole movable in the longitudinal direction of the slit. CONSTITUTION:A blower 3 consisting of a tube part 6 and a quartz tube 10 is inserted via a sealing means 5 into a wiping nozzle 1 and disposed so that the gas injection hole 11 of the blower 3 can be opposed to a slit 2. When the slit 2 is clogged with a sticking matter, the blower 3 is moved forward by means of a cylinder 4 to make the injection hole 11 face the slit 2. Subsequently, an inert gas is introduced through a tube 7 into the tube part 6 and heated by means of a heater 12 in the quartz tube 10 to allow a high-temp. gas 14 to blow out through the injection hole 11 so as to melt and blow off the sticking matter on the slit 2, and then, the injection hole 11 is moved along the slit 2. Further, it is preferable to provide an auxiliary blower 15 orthogonal to the slit 2 so as to prevent the blown-off sticking matter from sticking again to the outside surface of the nozzle 1.

    • PURPOSE:To evaluate a flaw in a product steel material at the stage of a casting piece by detecting an inclusion present under the surface of the casting piece which is formed by curved mold continuous casting by applying a light emission analytic method, etc., and estimating the surface quality of the final product (steel material) from the detected quantity. CONSTITUTION:Molten metal S in a tundish T is injected into a mold M through a dipped nozzle N. Then, the casting piece 1 which is cooled and solidified is drawn downward by pinch rollers P which are formed in a curved shape to cast the casting piece 1 continuously. At this time, a scale (black skin) on a surface to be inspected at the center part of the surface L of the casting piece 1 is removed by specific thickness, i.e. about 2-3mm and the inclusion in the casting piece 1 is analyzed by the light emission analytic method. Then, alumina which is the inclusion causing the generation of a linear flaw in the casting piece 1 and Ca, Na, etc., which are inclusions causing the generation of a white spot are detected. Thus, the linear flaw and white spot of a steel plate are estimated at the stage of the casting piece, so the casting piece having inclusions is removed from the process to improve the manufacture yield.
