    • PURPOSE:To clamp a steel pipe irrespectively of the base pipe part and upset part of the pipe by pivotally fitting pawls which clamp the steel pipe on cooling saddles oscillatably to the base fixed to a turning shaft. CONSTITUTION:Pawls 1 connected by means of pins 2 and bolts 3 to many bases 4 mounted to a revolving shaft 5 fitted to bearings 6 provided in plural pieces are held open in the state of 1' and a steel pipe 13 is placed on saddles 11. Cylinders 9 each one of which is cnnected to both ends of the shaft 5 are actuated by levers 7 and pins 8 to clamp the pipe 13 from both sides by the revolution of the shaft 5. Each pawl 1 is set to the bolt 3 at the space DELTA maintained by a spring 14 of a small spring constant which is given an optional rate of initial displacement and is inserted into the respective holes 16 of the pawl 1 and the base 4, so that the pawl is oscillatable around the pin 2 by as much as the space DELTA. The saddle 11 is adjustable in height if an eccentric cam 20 is turned.

    • PURPOSE:To improve biting properties of a material to be rolled, and to give a desired backside tension, by press-clamping the material to force-feed it into between rolling rolls, and making a pressing force of a sheet feeding device which gives a backside tension to the material after said feeding, at the time of rolling larger than said force at the time of feeding based on the moving quantity of clamping members. CONSTITUTION:When an arrival of the tip of a material 1 to be rolled is detected by a position detector 11, the position of the tip is successively obtained by an arithmetic circuit 12 from signals of a detector 9 of the number of revolutions. At the time when the tip protrudes by a prescribed quantity after passing through the space between open clamping members 4 and 5, a stop signal is given to a driving device 10 of feed rollers 8 from a circuit 12. Next, a command for setting a large pressing force is given to a controlling device 13 for driving a pressing cylinder from the circuit 12, and after clamping, starting signals are given to a controlling device 14 for driving a moving cylinder 7, and to the device 10. The time, when the tip of the material is moved to the position from which the tip is forced into the rolls 2 and 3, is detected, the moving of the material is stopped, and then commands are given to each drive controlling device so as to change the pressing force to a small force capable of giving a prescribed backside tension.

    • PURPOSE:To provide a titled device which improves workability by providing plural pieces of guide cylinders for guiding waste water to a lifting stand, rising the guide cylinders which can meet the length of a steel pipe to the draining position in conformity with the length of said steel pipe, fixing the cylinder in said position and guiding and discharging the waste water to the lower side of the lifting stand. CONSTITUTION:If a steel pipe 1 has, for example, L2, a guide cylinder 62 is risen to the position for accepting waste water and is stopped and held in the home position. When the position of the cylinder 62 is determined, the pipe 1 is carried onto the steel pipe receiving base 102 on a lifting stand 4 and the stand is lowered upon completion of the carrying-in then the pipe 1 is immersed in static water. High-pressure cooling water is injected from the inside surface nozzle 101 attached to one end of the stand 4 to the inside surface of the pipe 1 thereby cooling said surface. The water is injected to the inside surface of the pipe in air during descending for the purpose of the immersion depending upon the size of the steel pipe and the waste water in this stage is guided and discharged to the lower side of the stand 4 by the cylinder 62. The scattering of the waste water during cooling of the hot-worked steel pipe is consequently prevented and therefore the anxiety of the scattering to the hot-worked steel pipe while standing- by is eliminated and the maintenance and inspection for various devices are made easy. The various costs to be incurred thereupon are reduced.

    • PURPOSE:To prevent the generation of bending in a pipe owing to uneven hardening in the stage of hardening the pipe by cooling water by enabling the centering and distance adjustment between a nozzle for injecting the cooling water and the pipe in water cooling of the pipe. CONSTITUTION:A long-sized pipe 11 to be subjected to water quench hardening is clamped by means of plural receiving bases 2-10, and the base 2 is placed on a traveling carriage 28 which is freely movable forward and backward. A nozzle 12 provided with an injection port 1 for cooling water for the purpose of cooling the pipe 11 is mounted horizontally movable on a lifting frame 19. The frame 19 is pinned 20 to a lifting device 22. The exact centering between the port 1 and the forward end of the pipe 11 is accomplished by the forward and backward movements of the carriage 28 and the forward, backward, upward and downward movements of the nozzle 12 in cooling and hardening the pipe 11 with the cooling water injected from the port 1; at the same time, the distance l1 therebetween is adequately adjusted by such movements, whereby the water quench hardening of the pipe 11 is uniformly accomplished and the bending of the pipe owing to uneven hardening is prevented.

    • PURPOSE:To enable the production of a steel pipe having no rubbing flaws and bends and having excellent quality in the stage of hardening the steel pipe, by holding the steel pipe of high temp. by means of rolls and pinch rolls on a roll table, putting the same into a hardening tank and hardening the steel pipe from the inside and the outside with the sprays of cooling water. CONSTITUTION:A steel pipe 1 of high temp. is fed onto a vertically movable roll table 4, and is conveyed backward by the rotation of rolls 6. The steel pipe is rolled down and clamped with the pinch rolls 13 of a clamping device 12 in synchronization with conveying; thereafter, the table 14 is moved down into a cooling tank 100. The steel is then quickly cooled and hardened from the inside and the outside with the cooling water of high pressure sprayed from nozzles for cooling the outside surface and nozzles 27 for cooling the inside surface. Upon completion of the hardening, the clamping by the rolls 13 is released, and the cooled steel pipe 34 is transferred on a roll table 33, by which the steel pipe is inclined. High-pressure air is blown into the inclined pipe to discharge the residual water thoroughly therefrom.
