SOLUTION: In the method for drying, thermally decomposing, burning, and melting waste, by loading the waste into a waste melting furnace 1 along with coke and limestone, oxygen or oxygen-enriched air is blown from a blowing port 3 provided in a furnace body to a coke bed, in the method for using an oil-based coke as the coke, the limestone loaded into the waste melting furnace 1 is allowed to contain a fine grain with a grain size of 0.3 mm or smaller, is captured by a dust collector 4 along with the oil-based coke, flammable dust, and limestone powdered in the furnace and scattering to the outside of the furnace, and is blown from the blowing port 3 to the furnace bottom section.     • PURPOSE: To reduce ventilating pressure loss in a furnace, stabilize the inside of the furnace and prevent blowout, unfavorable lowering of material, and the like by a method wherein a stock level is increased or reduced so that a differential ventilating pressure in the furnace becomes a set objective value, in a shaft furnace system waste melting furnace. CONSTITUTION: A lower stage tuyere 2 and an upper stage tuyere 3 are arranged in the lower part of a shaft unit 1a in a shaft furnace system waste melting furnace 1. The lower stage tuyere 2 is provided in a hearth unit 1b and air is blown into the furnace through the lower stage tuyere 2 in order to burn coke. On the other hand, the upper stage tuyere 3 is provided in a tapered unit 1c and air for burning charged material is blown therethrough. In this case, a differential venetilating pressure is measured by a differential ventilating pressure meter PT and a stock level 1e is measured by a stock level detector LT while the measuring signals of them are sent into a level controller. The objective value of level is set by the objective value of differential pressure in the furnace and the deviation of the same while the charging amount of waste is controlled in accordance with the result of comparison between the detecting level and the set level.

    • PURPOSE: To burn the waste, a thermally decomposed residue and a combustible gas by providing an auxiliary combustion chamber of an annular space in the thermally decomposing, burning area of waste in a furnace, and supplying the air thereto. CONSTITUTION: An auxiliary combustion chamber 4 partitioned by an annular wall 3c itself and the inner wall of a bosh 1b is formed around an annular wall 1c. An upper stage tuyere 3b is installed in the chamber 4. Since the chamber 4 is disposed at the upper end of the bosh 1b as an annular space, CO, H2 produced by the thermal decomposition, combustible gas such as hydrocarbon gas etc., a combustible residue of fine grains, etc., can be effectively burned in the chamber 4. Such combustibility is improved, and hence the utilization ratio of the latent heat of the waste itself can be remarkably increased as compared with drying only by hot gas flow by gas blowing from the tuyere 2 and the lower side upper stage tuyere 3a, and effectively used as a heat source.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To equalize the descending speeds of charged materials in a cross-sectional plane in a furnace to minimize inferior heat exchange by a method wherein when temperatures in the furnace sensed by thermometers, which are provided in such a manner that a plurality of thermometers are provided in a cross-sectional direction of a shaft part and in a plurality of stages in the vertical direction of the shaft part, exceed specified values, the quantity of air blown in from an upper stage tuyere is reduced. SOLUTION: In order to sense a descent and cavity of charged materials in a cross-sectional direction, a plurality of thermometers 5 are provided in a spaced apart relationship in a cross-sectional direction of a shaft part 1a and in a plurality of stages in the vertical direction thereof to measure temperatures of gas and solids in a melting furnace. When a thermometer 5a indicates a value exceeding a specified value, a judgment is made that heat is not sufficiently exchanged between solids and gas and charged materials are not normally descending, and hence the quantity of air blown in from an upper stage tuyere 3a is reduced by means of a shutoff valve 4a. When thermometers 5a-5d in some stage indicate a value lower than the specified value, a judgement is made that the thermometers 5a-5d sense temperatures of solids and hence there exist solids and the charged materials are descending normally, and hence the shutoff valves 4a-4d are kept open and predetermined amount of air is blown in.

    • PURPOSE: To even the load sagging of charged articles, and stabilize the operation of a furnace by periodically performing the increase/decrease of air feeding quantities for respective tuyeres for an upper tuyere, a plurality of which are provided in the planar direction, at every specified time for a shaft furnace type waste melting furnace. CONSTITUTION: For a shaft furnace type melting furnace 1, a lower tuyere 2 is arranged around a furnace bed part (1a), and an upper tuyere 3 wherein, e.g. four units of upper and lower tuyeres 3a, 3b are provided in the planar direction, is arranged around a bosh-shaped part (1b), on the top of the lower tuyere 2, and air is fed to the upper tuyere 3, and air being enriched with oxygen is fed to the lower tuyere 2. Then, the air feeding quantities for the upper and lower tuyeres 3a, 3b are changed. Ip this case, when the air feeding is started, air is not fed to No.1 tuyere, and the same quantity of air is fed from remaining tuyeres. Then, after a specified period of time, e.g. 10 minutes have passed, an air feeding is started for No. 2 tuyere only. By periodically performing such motions, the thickness of a pyrolytic residue in the furnace is adjusted, and a ventilation pressure loss is reduced.
