    • PURPOSE:To lump preliminarily reduced ore having a specific metallization rate by mixing the preliminarily reduced ore and carbonaceous material and subjecting the mixture to pressure-molding at a specific temp. so that the thermoplasticity of the metallic iron-component is effectively exhibited. CONSTITUTION:The powdery preliminarily reduced ore of a high temp. of about >=750 deg.C which is discharged from a preliminary reduction furnace and has 30-80% metallization rate is fed through a container 1 and a storage bin 3 to a compression molding device 2 from which the ore is supplied by a screw feeder 4 to a mixing section M. On the other hand, the slack is supplied from a hopper 11 of a carbonaceous material supply device 10 to the mixing section M by a contact feeder 12, a screw conveyor 13, a chute 14 and a feeder 4 so as to be mixed with the preliminarily reduced ore. The mixture is supplied to molding rolls 5 is such a manner that the molding temp. is kept at >=400 deg.C. The mixture is pressure-molded under about 20T/cm linear pressure and the molding is separated by a separating machine 6. The separated moldings are dropped into a cooling water tank 8 according to need and are transferred by a vibration conveyor 7. The moldings are thereafter transferred to a prescribed place by a discharge conveyor 9. The lump yield of about >=85% is thereby attained.

    • PURPOSE:To remove dust from the gas inscribed on the face and to perform high-temperature reduction of an iron ore or the like, by lowering the temperature of the exhaust gas from a converter furnace at a fixed level, and then passing it through a multi-stage iron ore (iron ore or iron ore pellet)-packed layer. CONSTITUTION:When exhaust gas from an uncombustion-type converter furnace is subjected to dust removal, the temperature of the exhaust gas is lowered to 800-1,000 deg.C at first. Thereafter, the exhaust gas is let flow through a multi- stage packed layer containing an iron ore or the like as a filler which will act as a dust-removing filter. At the same time, the temperature of the iron ore or the like is raised by the exhaust gas, and the iron ore or the like is reduced into a high-temperature reduced iron ore or the like. The high-temperature reduced iron ore or the like is used as such as an iron ore source in the converter furnace.

    • PURPOSE:To provide the titled operation where the amount of carbon in an iron bath is recognized continually and the amounts of carbonaceous material and oxygen to be blown are regulated respectively so that the operating conditions can always be maintained in the optimum range, thus efficiently producing high-purity reducing gas. CONSTITUTION:(1) A carbonaceous material 3 containing a large quantity of carbon such as heavy oil or coal, (2) oxygen 4, (3) some amount of iron ore 5 and (4) a slag-forming agent are continuously blown into an iron bath 2, and, during the operation, the respective amounts of the carbon and oxygen in said raw materials and the respective amounts of the carbon and oxygen in the product are continuously determined through instrumentation. Thence, based on the resulting values and specified calculation models for carbon and oxygen balances and heat balance, the amount of carbon in the iron bath 2 is continuously determined through an operating device 13, and the amount(s) of the carbonaceous material and/or oxygen to be blown is (are) regulated so that the amount of carbon in said iron bath fall within a specified range, thus efficiently producing high-purity reducing gas while stably maintaining the optimum operating conditions.

    • PURPOSE:To perform dust collection and energy recovery effectively by reducing the temp. of waste gases to specific temps., and passing the same through the packed beds of carbon-contg. pellets, thereby reducing the pellets along with dust collection. CONSTITUTION:The temp. of the waste gas 2 from a converter 1 is reduced to 1,000-1,200 deg.C with a radiation type heat recovery device 6. This gas is passed through a dust collection chamber 4 to make a clean gas which is stored into a holder by means of a suction blower. Two packed beds are installed in the chamber 4; the 1st packed bed 7 is a coarse dust collection bed and a carbon- contg. pellet reduction bed, and the 2nd packed bed 8 is a finish dust collection bed. The carbon-contg. pellets are prepd. by compounding about >=10% pulverized coal or coke or other carbon sources and 5-10% cement with pulverized iron ore powder and granulating the mixture then forming the granules to non- fired pellets. The pellets sized to about 5-15mm. are preferable for the bed 7, and grain sizes of about 2-3mm. are preferable for the bed 8 in order to accomplish dust collection surely. The rate of descending of the packing materials in the 2nd bed 8 is et at about 1/10 that in the bed 7.
