    • PURPOSE:To produce a tin plate having excellent corrosion resistance by treating a cold rolled steel sheet as a cathode in both of electrolytic degreasing and electrolytic pickling stages prior to plating in the stage of electroplating Sn to the steel sheet and further alloying Sn and Fe thereby producing the electroplated tin plate. CONSTITUTION:Sn is electroplated onto the surface of the cold steel sheet and further the Sn plating layer is heated to alloy the plating layer with the Fe of the steel sheet to produce the tin plate having the excellent corrosion resistance. The steel sheet is subjected to the electrolytic degreasing by an aq. alkaline soln. and the electrolytic pickling by an acid soln. as the pretreatment for the electroplating to clean and activate the surface of the steel sheet. The steel sheet as the cathode is energized between the same and the anode which is a counter electrode in both of the electrolytic degreasing and electrolytic pickling stages. The steel sheet acts of courses as the cathode in the case of the Sn electroplating treatment. The thin plate having the better corrosion resistance than in the case of partly using an anodic treatment in combination is obtd. by using the steel sheet as the cathode in the entire pass of the Sn electroplating.

    • PURPOSE: To provide a cathode deposition type water-soluble or water-dispersible electrodepositing paint having excellent adhesion suitable for use in priming automobile, etc., by selecting paint having characteristic values within a specified range, said value being obtd. by constant-current electrolysis.
      CONSTITUTION: A cationic water-soluble or water-dispersible electrodepositing paint is prepd. by using, as a base, a resin obtd. either by reacting the epoxy groups of an epoxy resin with a polyamine to form a cations, or by reacting the hydroxyl groups in a resin with an amino group-contg. isocyanate to modify the resin to a cation. An electrodepositing paint is selected therefrom, which has a value within the range of 5,6W1, said value being the product of a characteristic value of the paint obtd. from constant-current electaolysis, that is, electrolytic current density Io (mA/cm
