摘要： PURPOSE:To produce the subject compound useful as an intermediate for chemicals in improved yield under mild condition while suppressing the by- production of acetoxy compound by reacting naphthalene with oxygen and carbon monoxide in the presence of a palladium catalyst and acetic acid. CONSTITUTION:The objective compound is produced by reacting naphthalene or methylnaphthalene with oxygen and carbon monoxide using palladium and/or a palladium compound as a catalyst in the presence of acetic acid and/or trifluoroacetic acid. The reaction solvent is e.g. methylcyclohexane, methyl isobutyl ketone, etc., or the above acetic acid and/or trifluoroacetic acid may be used as the solvent. The oxidative regeneration agent for the by-produced Pc(O) is preferably an oxygen complex of a complex of formula Mm.Xn.Le (M is Cu, Ti, V, etc.; X is halogen, etc.) capable of forming an oxygen complex.

摘要： PURPOSE:To obtain the subject compound in high selectivity at a low cost by oxidizing indene or an alkylindene in the presence of a catalyst containing a specific palladium (II) compound and a palladium-oxidizing agent or in the presence of palladium supported on a carrier, oxygen and water. CONSTITUTION:Indene or an alkylindene is oxidized in the presence of (a) a catalyst containing a compound of formula M2.Pd.X4 (M is Li, Na or K; X is Cl. Br or I) as at least one of the catalyst components and a palladium- oxidizing agent (preferably molecular oxygen or a quinone compound) or (b) palladium supported on a carrier, oxygen and water to selectively produce 1- and 2-indanones useful as a raw material for pharmaceuticals, agricultural chemicals, etc., on an industrial scale at a low cost using catalytic amount of palladium. The ratio of 1- and 2-indanones can be varied by selecting the reaction conditions. The selectivity of 1-indanones is generally high in the process (a) and that of 2-indanones is high in the process (b).

摘要： PURPOSE:To remove malodorous gases and harmful gases sufficiently even if the gases to be treated are relatively in low temperature by carrying and having manganese oxide and a composite oxide of silver and manganese as active components in an inorganic oxide support. CONSTITUTION:A deodorization catalyst is carried on a porous support of an inorganic oxide having at least 1m /g specific surface area and contains manganese oxide and a composite oxide of silver and manganese such as AgMn2 O4 AgMnO2, AgMnO4, AgMnO, Ag2MnO, Ag2Mn8O16 as active components. The atomic ratio of Ag and Mn in the active components ranges (1:99)-(80:20)=Ag:Mn. The catalyst further contains Ag and/or silver oxide as an active component. Ceramics of a honeycomb structure, a flat substrate, or a met or a metal structure is coated with those active components. In this way, the catalyst has high removal efficiency of malodorous gases and harmful gases and sufficient deodorization function even if the gas to be treated is relatively in low temperature.

As the catalyst 4 for exhaust purification reaches the activating temperature before unburnt hydrocarbon starts to be desorbed from the adsorbent 3, it is possible to efficiently purify the unburnt hydrocarbon and to reduce the amount of the hydrocarbon discharged outside.

The absorbing liquid supplied from the top part of the absorbing tower main body 1 is contacted with the stock gas supplied from the bottom of the tower main body 1 to absorb CO and the quantity of cooling water flowing through the cooling coil 3A is adjusted on the bias of the signal from a temp. indicating controller 4A and the rising in the temp. of the absorbing liquid is suppressed.
