摘要： PURPOSE:To obtain the subject compound in high selectivity at a low cost by oxidizing indene or an alkylindene in the presence of a catalyst containing a specific palladium (II) compound and a palladium-oxidizing agent or in the presence of palladium supported on a carrier, oxygen and water. CONSTITUTION:Indene or an alkylindene is oxidized in the presence of (a) a catalyst containing a compound of formula M2.Pd.X4 (M is Li, Na or K; X is Cl. Br or I) as at least one of the catalyst components and a palladium- oxidizing agent (preferably molecular oxygen or a quinone compound) or (b) palladium supported on a carrier, oxygen and water to selectively produce 1- and 2-indanones useful as a raw material for pharmaceuticals, agricultural chemicals, etc., on an industrial scale at a low cost using catalytic amount of palladium. The ratio of 1- and 2-indanones can be varied by selecting the reaction conditions. The selectivity of 1-indanones is generally high in the process (a) and that of 2-indanones is high in the process (b).

CONSTITUTION:The objective compound is produced by reacting naphthalene or methylnaphthalene with oxygen and carbon monoxide using palladium and/or a palladium compound as a catalyst in the presence of acetic acid and/or trifluoroacetic acid. The reaction solvent is e.g. methylcyclohexane, methyl isobutyl ketone, etc., or the above acetic acid and/or trifluoroacetic acid may be used as the solvent. The oxidative regeneration agent for the by-produced Pc(O) is preferably an oxygen complex of a complex of formula Mm.Xn.Le (M is Cu, Ti, V, etc.; X is halogen, etc.) capable of forming an oxygen complex.

摘要： PURPOSE:To obtain the title compound in high yield under repeated use of the catalyst, thus enabling to save the used amount of the catalyst by reacting a nitrobenzene with carbon monoxide and ethanol using a palladium catalyst coordinated to polytitazane. CONSTITUTION:The objective compound can be obtained by reacting a nitrobenzene with ethanol and carbon monoxide using a palladium catalyst coordinated to polytitazane. This catalyst can be prepared as follows: in the presence of a carrier, e.g. silica powder, a reaction of titanium tetrachloride with ammonia is made, and the reaction product is filtered, dried and then heated to sublimate ammonium chloride to obtain polytitazane carried on the silica. A solution of palladium compound is then added to this polytitazane per subjecting to react and then filtering and drying. This catalyst can be used repeatedly, thus capable of saving the used amount thereof.

摘要： PURPOSE:A kind of alkyl halide is used to form selectively the quarternary salt of isoquinoline from isoquinoline in a quinoline base mixture and the product is used as an anticorrosive agent directly or is decomposed to give isoquinoline. CONSTITUTION:A quinoline base mixture such as a fraction boiling at 240-250 deg.C which has been separated from coal tar is combined with an alkyl halide of the formula: RX (R is 1-20C substituted or unsubstituted alkyl; X is Cl, Br or I) such as lauryl chloride in an amount of 0.8-1.5 times the molar quantity of the isoquinoline in the base mixture and the reaction is effected at 100-250, preferably 100-200 deg.C to form a quarternary alkylated compound of isoquinoline. The reaction mixture is cooled and stood to conduct the layer separation for isolation of the quarternary salt. When the fraction boiling at 240-250 deg.C from coal tar is employed, the unreacted quinoline base is almost composed of methylquinoline, which is used as a raw material for quinophthalone pigments.

Then oil, water and solids can be separated by a method such as settling or centrifugal separation. Waste oil containing water can be separated without using much energy source and the recovered oil can be used as fuel.
