    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a universal joint that does not have backlash, has high rigidity and high durability. SOLUTION: A universal joint includes pin holes that are inserted at an intermediate position of a pair of hubs and are provided in four directions each of which is perpendicular to the others, and a block body that is engaged with a yoke via pins 4 that are driven into the pin holes. A dynamic pressure bearing of thin-plate lamination is built in the gap between the pins and a bearing hole for the yoke that is engaged with the pins and inserted into a shaft guide of the dynamic pressure bearing of thin-plate lamination so that it pressurizes in the radial direction. It is preferable to pressurize in the radial direction of the dynamic pressure bearing of thin-plate lamination by determining the diameter of the bearing hole for the yoke to be 1.3% smaller than the reference value of the outer diameter of the bearing. Accordingly, it becomes possible to prevent occurrence of backlash, improve the torsional rigidity and the durability.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent peeling of rubber caused by shearing stress and the deterioration by stress concentration by axially projecting a plurality of projections from inner end faces opposed to metal hubs in both sides, by engaging the projections mutually in the circumferential direction with clearances formed between them, and by forming the outer circumferential faces of the projections flush with the outer circumferential faces of the hubs. SOLUTION: Three projections 12 which are axially projected from inner end faces opposed to two hubs 11 and mutually engaged in the circumferential direction at intervals are set flush with the outer circumferential faces of the respective hubs 11. That is to say, the side faces of the adjoining projections 12 in the circumferential direction of the hubs on the both sides are formed parts of two planes with the axial lines of the hubs set to the crossing lines and rubber 20 interposed between the driving- side and the driven-side hubs is divided circumferentially by the projections 12. The tensile and compressive stresses are thus generated without generating the shearing stress and there is no possibility that the outer circumferential part of the rubber 20 is peeled off from the hubs 11. This constitution can improve the durability of a contact type rubber shaft joint and prevent the stall of the device by rupture of the rubber.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To eliminate backlash by pressfitting a needle bearing of closed end type in a clearance between a pin driven in a block body and a pin hole for yokes to be engaged therewith, after fitting a collar made of a low frictional material to the pin head part. SOLUTION: An universal joint is constituted of a drive shaft, hubs 1, 2 fitted to a driven shaft, collar yokes 11, 21 in their ends, a block body 3, and a pin 4, four same pins 4 are pressfitted in the four directions, and a small size needle bearing 5 of closed end type is inserted in a clearance between the pin 4 and the yokes 11, 21. Disc or ring collars 6 made of a low frictional material are mounted on the head part of the pin 4, the needle bearing 5 is pressfitted in to a position being in contact therewith, and the clearance between the pin 4 and the end cover of a shell is eliminated with its rotatable state. The collar 6 is made of fluororesin, carbon, and brass and the thickness is equivalent to the clearance. This constitution can eliminate backlash in the eccentric direction.

    • PURPOSE:To prevent the 'neck' of a production process and improve the characteristic of an axial joint by conducting annealing processing in a state in which an axial joint middle member consisting of a synthetic resin formation is combined with axial joint metal members on both sides. CONSTITUTION:A middle member 10 consisting of a synthetic resin formation is administered with final finish processing, and then, is combined with both side metal hubs 11, 12, and arranged in an electric hot wind hearth. There are combination cases such as the one in which the axis centers of the hubs 11, 12 are perpendicular and coincide with each other, the one in which the axis centers of the hubs 11, 12 are horizontal and coincide with each other, the one in which the axis center of the hubs 11, 12 are perpendicular and become uneven, and the one in which plural axial joints are accumulated upward and downward. As for annealing processing, temperature is raised from a room temperature to 160 deg.C, and kept at this for 108 minutes, and cooling off is carried out in air. As a result, the change amount of a torsion angle due to temperature effect is reduced, and torsion rigidity is improved, and the rate of change with the due to fixed load and the remaining warp are reduced. As the processing is the final production process, assembly can be accomplished without changing production processes thus far, and this processing does not become the 'neck' of the production process.

      SOLUTION: The universal joint 1 consists of 5 pieces, that is, a first yoke 10, a second yoke 20, coma 30, a third yoke 40, and a forth yoke 50. The first yoke is connected to the second yoke 20, the second yoke 20 to the coma 30, the coma 30 to the third yoke 40, and the third yoke 40 to the forth yoke 50. They are mutually movable and rotatable, and the joint is articulated at four connection parts in total. The first yoke 10 and the forth yoke 50 are the same in shape, and the second yoke 20 and the third yoke 40 are the same in shape. The first yoke 10 is rotated integrally with the input shaft, and the rotation is transmitted to the output shaft fixed to the forth yoke 50.
