    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrodeposition method using a lead-free cation electrodeposition coating material not forming pinholes and craters in the coating film even when using a zinc steel plate as the material to be coated, excellent in economical efficiency because of a small amount of the electrodeposition coating material used, having slight influence on the environment, enabling short-time electrodeposition.
      SOLUTION: The electrodeposition is carried out at a temperature lower by ≤2°C than the lowest film-forming temperature of the coating film and higher by ≤6°C than the lowest film-forming temperature by using the lead-free cation electrodeposition coating material composition comprising a sulfonium- modified epoxy resin as a binder resin, an amino-modified novolak epoxy resin and a blocked isocyanate curing agent, having ≤1 wt.% volatile organic content and 1,000-2,500 μS/cm coating liquid electric conductivity and 20-35°C lowest film-forming temperature of the coating film electrodeposited to the material to be coated.
