摘要： PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the subject molding product being lightweight, excellent in strength, high-impact properties and flexibility and useful for a leaf spring, a body for an automobile such as a truck, a passager car or the like, a part for an artificial satellite or the like, by including a specific carbon fiber as a part or the whole of a reinforcing fiber. SOLUTION: This molding product comprises a carbon fiber having 5-160 GPa tensile modulus, 1-5% compressive breaking strain and 1.5-1.9 g/cm3 density (e.g. a pitch-based carbon fiber) as a part or the whole of a reinforcing fiber. Preferably, the molding product comprises a laminated body consisting of at least one prepreg having the carbon fiber as a reinforcing fiber and at least one prepreg having a fiber except the carbon fiber (preferably a carbon fiber having 200-1000 GPa tensile modulus or the like.) as a reinforcing fiber. An epoxy resin or the like, can be usually used as a matrix resin.

摘要： PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a tubular form of fiber-reinforced composite material which has outstanding rupture strength in bending, rupture deflection in bending and high impact absorbing energy. SOLUTION: This tubular form contains a high compression breaking strain layer which contains carbon fibers orientated θ±15 deg. with the longitudinal direction of the tubular form. In addition, the modulas of compression elasticity, in a direction in which the carbon fibers are orientated, of the carbon fibers, which is calculated based on the conversion of a compression breaking strain in the high compression breaking strain layer, in the direction in which the carbon fibers are orientated, as 1-5% and the fiber-volume content of the carbon fibers as 60%, is 3-120 GPa.

SOLUTION: Pitch fibers obtained from a mesophase pitch having a softening point of 200-400 deg.C, a true density of 1.30-1.38 g/cm3 are subjected to a first infusibilization treatment at a temperature of 100-200 deg.C in a mixed gas atmosphere containing 1-5 vol.% of nitrogen dioxide, 5-50 vol.% of oxygen and the rest of an inert gas such as nitrogen or steam, followed by a second infusibilization treatment at 200-350 deg.C in a mixed gas atmosphere containing 1-5 vol.% of nitrogen dioxide, 5-40 vol.% of oxygen and the rest of an inert gas such as nitrogen or steam whereby the objective carbon fibers are produced.

摘要： PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To increase flex of a shaft while its bending strength is improved by a method wherein a carbon fiber having a specific elastic modulus is arranged on a straight layer of a hollow shaft. SOLUTION: A fiber reinforced composite material made tapered hollow shaft containing reinforced fiber of 200GPa to 1,000GPa elastic modulus is generally composed of at least two layers of an askew crossing layer 2 and a straight layer 3. As a prepreg used for the askew crossing layer 2, a unidirectional prepreg is used. As the reinfoced fiber used for the prepreg, that of 200GPa to 1,000GPa tensile elastic modulus is used. As a prepreg used for the straight layer 3, the unidirectional prepreg is preferably used. As the carbon fiber used for the prepreg used for the straight layer 3, that of 5GPa to 156GPa tensil elastic modulus is generally used as an essential constituent. Further, the carbon fiber has preferably 0.8 to 5GPa tensil strength in order to maintain the bending strength.

摘要： PURPOSE:To provide a device inspecting the breakage of the fibers of a carbon fiber- reinforced plastic tubular product such as a golf shaft or a fishing rod in a non- destructive manner. CONSTITUTION:A plurality of excitation coils 9a-12a selectively allowing an induction current to flow in every direction of the reinforcing fibers of a carbon fiber-reinforced plastic tubular member 1 and a plurality of detection coils 9b-12b forming pairs with respect to the coils 9a-12a are arranged to coil bobbins 9-10 and connected to an eddy current flaw detector 8. The tubular member 1 is attached to a rotary mechanism 3 through a holding part 2 and the rotary mechanism 3 is fixed to a scanning mechanism 4. When an inspection start command is inputted to a computer part 7, the scanning mechanism 4 is operated by the command of the computer part 7 to allow the tubular member 1 to run. The impedance change of the detection coils 9b-12b is converted into voltage by the eddy current flaw detector 8 while the voltage is recorded and displayed on the computer part 7. Next, the tubular member 1 is rotated by a predetermined angle and, thereafter, the same scanning is performed and these operations are repeated until the tubular member 1 makes one revolution and whole surface inspection is automatically executed and an inspection result is displayed.

It is desirable that a thickness of the core material layer is within a range of 500 to 2500 μm and a thickness of the surface layer is within a range of 50 to 250 μm.
