    • PURPOSE:To attain the control of tension required for taking up respective strips with different widths on a coil, which are cut to plural strips. CONSTITUTION:All the strips after being cut to plural strips, are fixed on a winding ring 10. When supplying air into a cylindrical body 2 by an air supply mechanism, air pressure is sent to a rubber bag 3 through a hole 9, the rubber bag 3 is swelled out, and a brake shoe 5 is projected from the outer peripheral surface of a mandrel shaft 1, overcoming the elasticity of a spring 6. The projected brake shoe 5 comes into contact with a winding ring 10, a friction force is generated between the brake shoe 5 and the winding ring 10, the rotation of the rotating mandrel shaft 1, is transmitted to the winding ring 10, and the winding ring 10 is rotated with the mandrel shaft 1 to take up the strip in a coil shape. As the winding diameter of the coil gradually becomes large, the winding tension of inside diameter and outside diameter, can be made constant by increasing a supply air pressure.

    • PURPOSE:To prevent cooling in a vacuum chamber and insulate by covering with a cover member at the lower end of submerged tube dipping into molten steel at the time of not using vacuum degassing apparatus. CONSTITUTION:The submerged tube of vacuum degassing apparatus 16 is dipped into the molten steel in a ladle 12 and the inner part of vacuum vessel 18 is evacuated through an exhaust tube 24, to perform vacuum degassing treatment of the molten steel. After completing the treatment, the vacuum degassing apparatus 16 is ascended and the ladle 12 is transported by a carrier 14. After that, the covering device 28 fitting one pair of the covering member 34 to an arm 32 supported by a shaft 30 through a coil spring 36, is turned in the direction of the arrow mark A, and the lower end of submerged tube is covered by the above covering member 18 through the stuck molten steel 40. In this way, radiation of heat in the vacuum chamber 18 is prevented and the heat is insulated. Therefore, at the time of degassing-treating the molten steel in the next time, preheating by a heating device is scarcely needed and the degassing treatment is executed with energy saving.

    • PURPOSE:To permit a pile to be penetrated with low-noise and low-vibration by a method in which a loading unit is fixed to a pile, and mercury is sent from an outside unit into the container of the loading unit by operating pump. CONSTITUTION:A loading unit is fixed to a pile 14 by combining the projection 11A of a column 11 with the hole 15 of the pile 15. They are moved to a pile- penetrating position under the condition. A pump 33 is operated and mercury 13 is sent from the second container 32 of an outside unit 2 into the first container 12 of the unit 1. As the amount of the mercury 13 in the container 12 increases, load on the pile 14 is increased to penetrate the pile 14 into the ground 31. The pile can thus be penetrated with low-noise and low-vibration and the operations can be all made by remote control on the crane side.

    • PURPOSE:To decrease considerably the replacement of a lance by sticking of a base metal thereto by providing a scraping claw which is horizontally and vertically movable to an inlet and outlet port for the lance of a hood in the upper part of a converter. CONSTITUTION:The lance 1 rises upon ending of blowing by the lance 1 and the rising speed decreases when a lance cone 8 arrives at the upper inlet and outlet port for the lance. The operating rod of a cylinder 3 advances at the same instant and when the scraping claw 2 contacts with the lance 1, the operating rod of a cylinder 4 retreats and the cylinder 3 is pulled down to position the scraping claw 2 to face downward. The lance 1 rises during this time and the base metal 17 sticking to the lance 1 contacts with the scraping claw 2, by which the base metal 17 is scraped from the lance 1. The operating rod of the cylinder 3 retreats and the scraping claw 2 is detached from the lance 1 when the lance 1 arrives at the prescribed height.

    • PURPOSE:To safely and easily execute repair and inspection in a flue, by arranging guiding wheels each to front part of carriage moving in the flue and to a sloping part of rear part of the carriage and arranging a means winding the carriage by using a cable. CONSTITUTION:One pair of first wheels 34, 36 rollingly contacting with inner circumferential face of the flue 14 are fitted to the front part 28 of the repairing carriage 26 for flue. The sloping part 33 almost in parallel with a sloping part of the flue 14 is formed at the rear part 30 of the carriage 26 and second wheels 38 are fitted to the rear part 30 thereof and further in connecting part of the front part 28 and the rear part 36, auxiliary wheels 40 are arranged to the sloping part 33 side. And, a winch 44 is arranged near at the second wheels 38. A housing stand 48 for the carriage 26 is hung down by a repairing crane 58 to arrange at under part of the flue 14. A chain 23 is hung into a hook 24 and dangled in the flue 14 and the chain 23 is wound up by the winch 44 to raise the carriage 26. The carriage 6 is stopped at desirable position in the sloping part 20 of the flue 16.

    • PURPOSE:To predict slag foaming in an early period and to stabilize the condition of a converter by inserting a sub-lance mounted with a photodetector at the top end into the converter during converter operation and computing the fluctuation in the field area of an observation hole changing with the slag sticking near the observation hole of the photodetector. CONSTITUTION:The sub-lance 2 which has the furnace inside observation hole 3 at the top end and the photodetector 4 behind said hole is inserted into the converter and the photovideo on the inside of the converter is detected through the observation hole 3. The detection signal thereof is projected on a monitor 6 through a video processor 5. The fluctuation in the ratio at which the slag sticking and forming near the hole 3 occupies the field area of the hole 3 is computed by an arithmetic unit 7. The result of the computation is sent to a decision device 8 which compares the same with the predetermined initial field area of the hole 3 as a reference. An alarm for the generation of the slag foaming is emitted from an alarm device 9 at need according to the result thereof so that the slag foaming is prevented. The decrease in the yield of tapping by sloping and the decrease in the recovering rate of gaseous OG are thereby prevented and the oxygen blowing operation is stabilized.

    • PURPOSE:To eliminate the need for boring a tap hole of a molten steel pan and to automate packing of sand into the tap hole by feeding the sand supplied from a tank by a pressure to the tap hole of the molten steel pan with which discharging of a molten metal is finished via a hose connected to a lower nozzle. CONSTITUTION:After the molten metal is poured into a tundish, etc., the sand 9 contained in a tank 1 attached to the side face of the molten steel pan 2 is supplied through the hose 3 connected to the lower nozzle 8 of a rotary nozzle 6 provided in the bottom of the molten steel pan 2 and is pushed by a pressure applying means 4 into the tap hole 5 of the molten steel pan. The molten steel pan 2 is then tilted to discharge molten slag 7 remaining in the bottom thereof. A required amt. of the sand 9 is threreafter replenished into the tap hole 5 in the same manner as mentioned above and the rotary nozzle 6 is rotated to close the tap hole 5. The molten steel pan 2 is thereby made ready to accept the molten metal and the pouring of the molten metal into the tundish is executed from the other lower nozzle 8' as well.
