    • PURPOSE:To effectively utilize the retention heat in a molten iron ladle and to produce a high alloy steel in good thermal efficiency by charging alloy raw material into the empty high temp. molten iron ladle and preheating at the time of producing the high alloy steel by shifting the high alloy molten iron in the molten iron ladle into a converter and executing decarbon-refining. CONSTITUTION:The high alloy molten iron 5 as raw material for the high alloy steel is charged into the top-bottom combined blowing converter 2 and Fe-Si 8 as heat source is charged and oxygen is blown from a top-blowing lance 9, and by oxidizing Si in the Fe-Si, exothermic reaction is executed and the molten iron temp. is raised, and while stirring the molten iron by blowing gas 12 of Ar, etc., from a tuyere at the bottom, the decarbon-refining is executed by the oxygen blowing from the top-blowing lance 9, to produce the high alloy steel 11. The alloy raw material 3 of high carbon Fe-Mn, etc., is charged into the empty molten iron ladle 1, in which the high alloy molten iron 5 has been charged, and after preheating the alloy raw material by the retaining heat, the molten iron 4 is charged and the alloy raw material is melted to make the high alloy molten iron 5, and thereafter, pre- refining for desulfurization, dephosphorization, etc., is executed and the slag is removed and the low S and low P high alloy molten iron 5 is charged into the converter 2 to execute decarbon-refining. By effectively utilizing the retention heat in the molten iron ladle, the high alloy steel can be produced in good thermal efficiency.

CONSTITUTION:The covering body 5 having airtightness, is inserted at position having the prescribed height in the casting start tube 2 arranged discharging hole 6 in the tundish 1. The covering body 5 composing of flat disk plate, is brought into closely contact with the inner face of the tube at the intermediate position of the tube 3 and the inner part in the tundish 1 is cut off from outer air and also the covering body 5 disappears at the stage of flowing the molten metal into the inner part 4, and after that, the molten metal flow is not disturbed. At the time of casting the molten metal through the tundish 1, as the tundish 1 is perfectly sealed, and held to reducing atmosphere, the inclusion composing of oxide in the cast slab is reduced.

    • PURPOSE:To prevent occurrence of slopping caused by foaming slag by injecting inert gas into the foaming slag generating in a converter from a lance toward horizontal direction at the time of refining molten iron to molten steel in the converter providing a bottom blowing tuyere and the top blowing lance. CONSTITUTION:The molten iron 12 is charged into the converter 10 having the bottom blowing tuyere and slag making material, such as lime, etc., is added and the pure oxygen is blown from the bottom blowing tuyere and also the lance 16 is hung down in the converter to blow the pure oxygen on the surface of molten iron 12 from a nozzle 22 at the tip thereof, and C in the molten iron 12 is oxidized to refine to the molten steel by decarburization. In this case, the foaming slag 14 generated by the refining reaction is blown up by CO gas generated by the decarburizing reaction, to cause slopping. At the time of inserting the lance 16 by the increasing slag volume caused by foaming the viscous molten slag 14, it is detected by the detector. And, the inert gas 19, such as Ar, etc., is injected against the inner wall of converter from side holes 18 on the outer pipe of lance 16 and the oxygen concentration at this portion is reduced, to form reducing slag and the foaming is eliminated, and as CO is easily vented upward on the slag 14, the occurrence of slopping is prevented.

    • PURPOSE:To prevent the intrusion of molten slag into a ladle for molten iron and to improve the rate of preliminary refining with desulfurization by disposing freely swivelably and rollably a molten iron receiving tank provided with a siphon pipe in the bottom between a tapping spout for molten iron and the ladle for molten iron. CONSTITUTION:A slag cut pot 4 provided with a siphon pipe 5 in the bottom is disposed between an inclined spout 1 and a ladle 3 for molten iron in the stage of receiving the molten iron tapped from a blast furnace in said spout and charging the same through the tap hole 2 thereof into said ladle. The molten iron flowing down from the spout 1 into the pot 4 flows through the pipe 5 in the bottom into the ladle 3. The pressure of molten slag S in the pipe 5 balances with the pressure of molten iron M at the point of the time when the reception in the ladle 3 ends, then the reception into the ladle 3 is automatically stopped after the stop of the tapping from the spout, whereby the intrusion of the slag S into the ladle 3 is prevented and therefore the decrease in the rate of desulfurization in the ladle 3 by the preliminary refining on account of the presence of the molten slag is prevented.
