    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make cooling suitable, to prevent the deterioration of erosion, etc., and to obtain the stabilization for long time by constituting a stave cooler with a main body composed of an iron or an iron alloy including a cooling flow-passage and an outer peripheral part composed of a copper or a copper alloy disposed at the outer priphery of the main body. SOLUTION: The stave cooler is composed of the cast iron-made of main body 1 having the cooling flow passage 3 and the copper-made outer peripheral part 2 arranged so as to cover the whole body of the outer periphery thereof. According to this constitution, the outer peripheral portion is held to the low temp. by covering the outer peripheral portion of the main body easily becoming the high temp. with the copper-made member having high thermal conductivity, and while holding the cooling to the suitable degree, the erosion can be prevented. Then, the temp. in the stave cooler is generally at higher temp. in the outer peripheral part than that in the center part and further, at higher temp. in the corner part. Under the temp. condition, etc., in metallurgical furnace, in the case of being the portion whose corosion is considered as the problem only at the corner part, the copper-made member may be disposed only at the corner part, and in this method, it can be avoided to excessively strengthen the cooling.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the lowering of a stock line at opened tuyere side and to prevent the aggravation of furnace condition and the breakage of equipment caused by blowoff, etc., by opening a few of tuyeres at the furnace cooling time, opening adjacent tuyeres in order and also, using raw material having low heap angle. SOLUTION: At the furnace cooling time of a blast furnace, a few of tuyeres are opened to start the operation. The adjacent tuyeres are opened in order and finally, the whole tuyeres are opened to continue the operation. At this time, as the raw material to be charged, the raw material having low heap angle, such as pellet, is used to prevent the lowering of the stock line. The charge of the raw material 20 is conducted by using a swing hopper 22, etc. Under state of stopping the swing hopper 22, the raw material 20 is received through a charging belt conveyor 21. The swing hopper 22 is swung to a prescribed position and the raw material 20 is shifted to the direction desirable to charge and successively, a bell is opened to charge the raw material to the prescribed position. In this way, the raw material is charged to an arbitrary position in the circular direction in the furnace to prevent the lowering of the stock line.

    • PURPOSE:To feed mechanically and automatically a pipe for oxygen hole opening into a tap hole by inserting the pipe between a driving roller and driven roller, grasping the pipe by the pressure of the driven roller and turning the driving roller thereby feeding the pipe into the tap hole. CONSTITUTION:A stand 1 is installed near the tap hole of the blast furnace and the pipe 15 for oxygen hole opening is inserted between the driving roller 2 and the driven roller 7 in a casing 8 via guide rollers 18. A screw bar 10 is rotated to press a bracket 6 by a spring 11 (by a cylinder 14 if necessary) so that the pipe 15 is strongly grasped by the driven roller 7 and the driving roller 2. The roller 2 is then rotated to insert automatically the pipe 15 via a guide pipe 17 into the tap hole to be subjected to oxygen hole opening. Oxygen is supplied from a hose connected to the rear end of the pipe 15 into the pipe and the tap hole is opened by the oxidation heat. The inside of the casing 8 is cooled by supplying air from a nozzle 20.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To detect the crack of clay packed in a tuyere in the small crack stage, to quickly repair the crack and to prevent the natural opening of the tuyere by measuring the temp. at the outside of a portion which is not water-cooled at the upstream part of the tuyere and detecting the development of the leaked blasting from the difference between the measured temp. and the atmospheric temp. SOLUTION: The temp. of the outside of the portion at the upstream part of the tuyere which is not water-cooled, is measured and the temp. difference between the measured temp. and the atmospheric temp., is obtd. to detect the development of the leaked blasting in the tuyere at the initial stage. That is, in the case of developing no leaked blasting, since the hot blasting is entirely not made to flow in the inner part of the portion at the upstream part, the measured temp. is almost equal to the atmospheric temp. In the case of developing the leaked blasting even in a little, since the hot blasting at about 120 deg. is passed through the inner part of the tuyere, the measured temp. is remarkably raised. In the case of detecting the development of the leaked blasting, refractory is spread onto the surface of the clay packed in the front end part of the tuyere and the crack is repaired to prevent the natural opening of the tuyere.
