    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the stability of a control system and conduct direct velocity feedback control (DVFB control) with a low-priced damping device by permitting damping force against bending vibration and a damping moment against torsional vibration to be set independent respectively. SOLUTION: A pair of pressurizing devices 1, 1a and a pair of speed sensors 2, 2a are disposed on a vibrating body which generates bending vibration and torsional vibration, in parallel to such a direction which generates displacement with the bending vibration and symmetrically to a reference surface 4 including the center line of the torsional vibration. Control signals are produced by adding and subtracting a bending signal 13 which is produced, after the output of the speed sensor is added with an adder 7, by multiplying it by a gain GB and a torsional signal 14 which is produced, after the output of the speed sensor is subtracted by a subtracter 10, by multiplying it by a gain GT respectively again with an adder 9 and a subtracter 12, and are then fed back to the pressurizing devices corresponding to each other.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To install a damping device even in a narrow space while reducing the construction period and cost and securely damp a bridge by dividing a bridge girder into bridge girder blocks having an appropriate length in the axial direction of the bridge and depressing the vibration of the girders by dampers installed between blocks. SOLUTION: Dampers made of highly attenuating rubber are installed at both outsides of a bridge girder 6 and adjacent bridge girder blocks 1 are connected together through the damper. In this time, a damping action caused by the dampers is easily obtained by the FEM eigen value analysis on the basis of the viscous attenuation of a single damper and the number of installed dampers. The dampers effectively function even when a relatively warped displacement or a tortional displacement has arisen and attenuates the bridge girders 6. When the bridge girders 6 vibrates by wind, the girders 6 are restricted by both main towers and the displacement of the bridge girder 6 is small at the vicinity of the main towers and maximal in the vicinity of the central part of the span. In this way, many days are not required for development and design and the bridge is securely attenuated by the installed dampers and further the dampers can be installed even in a narrow space.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To simplify welding work and facilitate welding of studs by making a chord member being an upper chord and a lower chord to be a pentagonal steel pipe having a cross section of a pentagon. SOLUTION: The triangular truss comprises two upper chords 1 positioned under a floor board F and extending in the direction of a bridge axis, one lower chord 2 and an oblique material 3 connected to the upper chord 1 and the lower chord 2 to be applied to a triangular bridge. The upper chord 1 and the lower chord 2 are a pentagonal steel pipe, the same shape is made in the whole cross section to display a right and left symmetrically pentagon. Since the upper chord 1 and the lower chord 2 are the cross section pentagon, the beveling of the oblique material 3 makes a shape abutting on the same plane. Therefore, the beveling can be simplified. In addition, welding work can be simplified. Therefor welding defects can be reduced. In addition, since the welding face of studs can be made a plane, welding studding can be performed. Thus, execution of a triangular truss is improved, a construction period is shortened and elimination or reduction of labor can be contrived.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent flutter without blocking the field or view and without increasing drag in the airflow direction by installing flat plates in such a way that they are a predetermined distance away from a floor plate located at the cross center of a bridge girder or from its lower surface and that they are appropriately parallel to each other. SOLUTION: A flutter-prevention device 5 placed horizontally along a bridge girder 1 at the center of the bridge girder, at a predetermined distance from a floor plate, comprises flat plates 7, 9 which can be rotated about the center of the bridge girder along their axes, a driving unit 11 imparting random rotation to the flat plates 7, 9 via a link mechanism, and a control plate 17. On a shaft member installed between columns 21 erected at a predetermined interval along the axis of the bridge girder 1, the flat plates 7, 9 are installed in such a way that they are rotatable about the center of the shaft member. If a high wind that may exceed a flutter-causing wind speed is expected to blow in the perpendicular direction to the axis of the bridge girder 1, a signal is transmitted by the control plate 17 to the driving unit 11 to rotate the flat plates 7, 9. If a separating vortex generated at the front edge of the bridge girder 1 flows down and comes to the center of the bridge girder 1, the vertically rotating flat plates 7, 9 disturb and weaken the separating vortex, preventing flutter.
