    • PURPOSE: To make the flow rate density distribution of cooling water in the transverse direction of a metallic strip uniform and to lessen the nonuniform cooling at the un-stationary time at the time of turning a stop valve on and off by providing a hairpin nozzle with the stop valve and an opening degree regulating valve and regulating the cooling water flow rate. CONSTITUTION: This cooler of a pipe laminar system is installed on a run-out table on the outlet side of a hot finishing mill and is mounted with the opening degree regulating valve 4 together with the hairpin nozzle 1 and the stop valve 3. The opening degree regulating valve 4 changes its opening rate by the vertical movement of a bolt screw, thereby changing the flow rate density of the cooling water in the transverse direction of the metallic strip. Since the hairpin nozzle 1 is provided with the stop valve 3, the generation of the water hammer which takes place at the time of the transient on and off of the stop valve 3 is lessened to a negligible level. The responsiveness at the time of discharging the cooling water and the responsiveness at the time of water draining are improved by providing the hairpin nozzle with the stop valve 3 nearer the discharge port.

    • PURPOSE:To quickly position and accurately fix cutters by moving cutter holders and lock nuts to position the cutter holders and fastening the cutter holders with the lock nuts to fix the cutter holders to arbor shafts. CONSTITUTION:Four cutter holders 3 and four lock nuts 4 are fitted outside to pairs of upper and lower arbor shafts 2, respectively. That is, the cutter holders 3 fixed together with cutters 5 and the lock nuts 4 are fitted outside to the arbor shafts 2 with grooves 2b and female screws 3a loosely fitted thereto and moved to preset positions, respectively. Next, the cutter holders 3 are turned to thread male screws 2a to the female screws 3a for interlocking. After the cutters are positioned in this way, jigs 8 are fitted to the lock nuts 4, protruded portions 8a are locked to grooves in the lock nuts 4 and the lock nuts 4 are turned and fastened using the jigs 8. The cutter holders 3 are accurately fixed to preset positions on the arbor shaft 2, accordingly.
